Happy Summer Sun Celebration!

Good morning, everypony and welcome to the longest day of the year!

This is most normally a time to celebrate and enjoy time together.

Instead, we are faced with discouragement and and separation, physically and socially, futher fueled by anger over the inequality and injustice that continues to plague this country and the world.

It seems to have become a frightening and horrific time, with little to find joy in or to even consider celebrating.

And though I know that all is true, I believe there is still much to be happy about.

We in our fandom community have each other. Though we may not be able to be together physically, we have come together on line, through the conventions and charities and causes we support. We've checked on one another, helped each other through some of life's most difficult circumstances and we continue to be there for each other.

We strive, as a community and individually, to show the world what acceptance, kindness, generosity, honesty, loyalty and love truly are and look like. We support and care for each other and those around us, not just in the moment but every day.

Indeed, there is still much strife and injustice. But everyday, there is one more ray of light that breaks through the darkness. Let's all remember to be that light and to shine for and with each other.

And hopefully, one day soon there will be a bright and wonderful time that we are all together, sharing in the warmth of love and friendship.

That is my hope for all of you. Take care and be well.
