Ever plan a chapter with all its little intricacies and forget to add the through plot line? Yeah, that just happened to me with the next chapter of A Deer Named John. I had hoped the chapter would be done and out by now, but I only realised why I was having trouble with the chapter a few hours ago. I came up with the full solution about an hour ago and now have to thread it into the chapter before getting to the scenes I am yet to write.
Sorry, this isn't a common mistake and I feel a little foolish about it. But, things like this happen every now and then. At least I spotted the problem and can now work toward the finish of this chapter.
It may still be a couple of days, but I'm not floundering trying to figure out what is wrong.
Tael.
Well, you are very inclusive when it comes to informing your audience. If this mistake was made before live post, I probably wouldn't have admitted it openly at all. There's no reason to because nobody had a chance to spot the mistake yet, but for you, I see why you said it. You are explaining the delay. Speaking for myself, I do not lament the delay of the story, but rather celebrate how it's being improved.
I know. I would rather be closer to a chapter every two weeks, that is a personal goal. So, when I end up getting closer to a month between chapters, I start getting annoyed at myself. Felt like sharing the reason for this one as it wasn't an external impact, just me making a mistake. Just a little of me sharing my process.
May also be because after the next chapter I will probably be making an announcement and I don't want the content of that to appear like it is going to be in the way of chapters for John. John will continue to be my priority on the site, even over what I announce in the near future.
