1st anniversary of me being a Fimfiction member · 1:16am Apr 30th, 2020

Oh my gosh! I can't believe I've been in Fimfiction for 1 year! As promised, I'm going to tell you all about how I ended up being here.

I started out in fanfiction.net and wrote 2 M-rated stories from 2013-2016. I was inactive from 2017-2018 due to being busy in my previous job, as well as having to deal with a couple of assholes who took advantage of me. As 2019 arrived, that was when I became interested in MLP:FIM, which I discussed in my previous blog. Aside from discovering clop art, a particular scene that got me intrigued was in A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2 where the changeling transformed into different ponies in front of Pinkie Pie. I thought to myself, "Huh, this could be a great concept for a clopfic".

I drafted the 1st chapter in WPS Office which took me just 2 days to edit and proofread all by myself. I published it in fanfiction.net on April 24, 2019 (Belated happy 1st anniversary!) and as a couple of days went by, I noticed that only a few users faved and followed it, so I was thinking if there's a site where I could share my story to another audience. Doing some MLP-related research has led me to discover Fimfiction.net. I read a couple of stories and joined on April 30, 2019 to publish my clopfic here and it was approved on May 6, 2019 (Advanced happy 1st anniversary!).

Afterwards, it has been added by several users to their libraries of favourites and I've made new friends here. Adding it to appropriate groups has gained tons of favourites from even more users, which also happened whenever I updated with a new chapter until the 5th and final one. Truth be told, the songs in the 1st chapter were meant for the next chapter of my Pokemon fic A New-Found Blaze, but I set those songs aside due to suffering from writer's block. Once I took an interest in MLP, particularly clop art and the ability of changelings to transform into whatever pony or creature they wish to be, a bunch of ideas ran through my head and that was when I decided to use those songs to conceptualize my clopfic.

I honestly did not expect a lot of users to enjoy reading my story and there were definitely ups and downs throughout the year. While I received wonderful feedback through upvotes and in the comments, I had to disable the ratings a couple of times because the downvotes without explanations are absolutely frustrating until two users encouraged me to bring them back and come to terms that not everyone will like what I put out.

Fimfiction is also a safe space for me to post blogs where I can express my opinions about whatever I want to talk about without being judged. Back when I was commenting on YouTube videos, I received a bunch of replies that disagree with me in a hostile manner, even to the point of calling me a f****t when it comes to LGBT-related content. I blocked their Google+ accounts and turned off comment notifications in my settings to keep my well-being in check and to no longer waste my time with trolls. The friendliness, kindness, love, and support from people here made me feel welcomed with open arms. It gave me a significant impression that we can all live in harmony even though we don't share the same opinions. For that, I will forever ever be grateful.

Not only I'm thankful and proud to be a brony, but I'm also blessed to join in a platform where we all come together as a community, sharing stories as a form of self-expression and befriending people who feel left out due to the world's lack of understanding about the magic of friendship (*cough* *cough* Fox News and Howard Stern). I will always cherish the friendships that I made in this site and all of us wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for Knighty and his remarkable team.
