Smolder exhaled. Whether the smoke that followed came from biology or the dragon's refusal to contain the cigarette's erosion Ocellus couldn't tell. It blossomed, though, a smudge of grey against the bruised sky, and that was enough. But in that moment Ocellus was certain that whatever Smolder did would have been enough.

S'up. Been a while, hasn't it? But yeah, I've been writing some horsegriffonwords here and there. It's very rough, and I'm not sure if it'll go anywhere or see the light of day, but here's a small part of it that I liked and thought I'd share.

    Wrote Something Last Week

Not a story as such (or, at least, not anything approaching a complete story), but the foundation of something that could conceivably become a story with some time and effort.

    Saw the G5 Movie Today.

As is probably apparent by my lateness to the proceedings, I haven't really been motivated to catch it thus far, but was babysitting and my charge wanted to watch it.

    Time Flies

Smolder lay sprawled across the rug, limbs and claws entwined in dense yak hair. Her scales had become uneven shimmering planes, given their fleeting new life by the light of the fireplace. There, prancing tongues lived and died erratically, the only concession to the passing of time.

"Hey, you see the moon from there?"

A Question for my Readers · 9:12pm Apr 16th, 2020

Hello all!

I'm still alive and kicking, mostly! I didn't think it was possible to sleep so much in one day, however. Feeling a little worse today, if I'm honest, but I'm hopeful that it's just a minor blip. Anyway, all of your lovely comments and conversations on Proximity have been keeping a smile on my face. At a time when human interaction is limited I can't stress how appreciated your time and company is.

TProximity
Smolder and Ocellus find hundreds of reasons to be close to one another, and hundreds of ways of making it happen. These are just a few of them.

And on the subject of Smolcellus: Proximity is almost reaching the end of its second run. Only three more ficlets planned and then that will probably be that. It's been a great deal of fun bringing this story back, particularly with a more lighthearted slant, and it's reminded me how much I love writing romance between these two characters. Whilst I'm enjoying rewriting Salves, there's no Ocellus in that story, and I'm going to miss the company of best bug. So I've been wondering; would there be any interest for you in reading a longer romantic piece between these two? I have two ideas in mind, both covering largely different subject matter beyond the obvious romance; the story itself would be updated at a slow speed (maybe once a month), though, so nothing like the rate that you've been seeing with Proximity. Would that detract from any appeal?

Um, that's it, really. I won't go into too much detail about the idea, only that it will be set after Smolder and Ocellus have graduated from the School of Friendship and are entering life beyond. I'll probably be sticking with my desire to have Smolder becoming an apprentice under Rarity, too. Dragon seamstress is just too cool a concept to pass over.

Or maybe I'll just write an AU where Smolder is a magical princess hunting down a fugitive bug-creature in a rain-slicked neon metropolis.

Oh god, maybe I'll write that!!

Let me know your thoughts. If nothing else, it will help keep me excited about life beyond being stuck in bed, heh.

Much love, speak soon!

Ah geez, you lot are useless! :yay: At least I know that whatever idea I go with will get your approval.

Well, hopefully, anyway! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

I would like any words from you. Both both both and more, please.

The cyberpunk concept sounds brilliant! Please look after your health and write these great story ideas for us.

Oh you! Flattery gets you... Well, everywhere, really. :raritywink:

Eee, thanks for your thoughts. I'll be bearing them in mind. And yes, I certainly intend to keep myself on the right side of the ground, haha. :trollestia:

With apologies for adding to the general non-deciding that's going on here, those both sound like Something I'd Like To Read! You could always just pick one to do first, and keep the other up your sleeve for later.

Sage advice right there; thank you very much for sharing it. I doubt I've got the lifespan on this site to get through both of these ideas, but that approach will if nothing else help focus my thoughts on which one to approach first. I hope life is treating you well during this unusual time, by the way.

Hello, you! Obvious answer was obvious, I suppose, haha :trollestia:
I hope you're doing well today? I haven't got back to commenting on the 'birthday present' yet, but suffice to say I'm really enjoying it.

Yeah, I'm doing great! Hope you're feeling the same
