Behold, my terrible pun.
So, yeah, like most of y'all, my workplace has been closed until further notice, so I'm staying home for who-knows-how-long until this stupid virus blows over. I'm personally not too afraid of the virus, I'm just annoyed about being inconvenienced like this. But, I suppose I should look at the bright side--there are some tasks around the house that I've been meaning to do but was too tired or busy to do them... I could go about drawing some ideas rolling around in my head... perhaps I could finally make some fanfiction progress, since it's been over a year since the last chapter of Brotherly Bonding Time and I feel really bad about leaving readers hanging (but, URGH, I'm really hating the next chapter because it's such a major groaner).
So, yeah, fun times. Woo.
Besides, wanna know what really scared me today? Behold, my thought process when I woke up this morning:
~...m'kay, so I'm not in a hotel in Oklahoma... why Oklahoma though...
~Oh, things shaking, must be the wind...
~...WAIT, the wind never shook things INSIDE my room!
~Bed shaking, nightstand shaking, shelves shaking... is this an earthquake?!
~I should probably take cover but I'm too scared to move.
~Please let it be one of those milder ones that don't tear down buildings.
~Phew, it's over, no damage.
~Daaaaang, this is the first time I've ever felt an earthquake.
Yeah, that happened. Felt a little aftershock, too, and looking at local news there's been several more around the valleys, but everyone's fine. I'm about forty miles from the epicenter, so everything's hunky-dory, I'm not affected by any power outages (I mean, I wouldn't write this on my phone, it'd be too tedious), nor are there any damages in my neighborhood. Still, caught me (and everyone else) by surprise, and I'm still a little shaken.
Anyway, hope you guys are having a good day!
Yeah, I was in a mild one once. You could hear items rattle more than see them, but it was still super surreal. Especially since, you know, New Jersey. Not exactly known for tectonic activity. Still, glad to hear you're okay in terms of both health and your house still standing. I'll catch up on Brotherly Bonding Time... at some point. Sorry.
Oh wow, an earthquake?? I'll admit I've never experienced one, as I live in North Carolina and worry about hurricanes instead, though my mom sure has--she grew up in California, and they had like ten a week according to her. It sounds pretty frightening though, glad you're alright.
