I'm beginning to consider moving it to 8 PM, or doing a Saturday afternoon stream on weekends I'm not on the road, but until the end of this month it'll be 7 PM Mondays and Wednesdays. (Doing a Saturday 7 PM XCOM stream this weekend, too.)
By the way... I finally sent Andy Weir the link to The Maretian last night. Just as I went to bed he responded with, "Oh my God..." I don't know if that was due to the length, the ponies, or what.
probably a mix of all three
Oh wow. Do you know him personally and was he expecting it, or was it just an out-of-the-blue thing to see how he would react?
5206339 A little in between. I asked his advice about something early on in writing Maretian, and I contacted him because my convention-vendor booth is now carrying the Cheshire Crossing TPB (redrawn by Sarah Anderson of Sarah's Scribbles).
Well, it's going from 2 am to 3 am for me in my time zone. Not much of a difference though, since this days I'm havin to wake up early, so I'm not going to be able to watch it live.
Also, that Zhang mission... everybody came out healthy in the end! Ah... gg ez... like a pro.
As a side note, I remember a fanfic series, 'Stardust' and it's sequels, about Twilight going into the xcom universe. At some point her magic starts to seep into the humans and combined with the psy powers they start to get psionic magic tricks too. The commander gets... something like foresight or time travel, so, cheaty resets become canon and explained.
So, for Andy Weir it would look like someone, out of the blue told him "That's a cool book you got there... you know what would be great? Ponies... yeah, let's pony-up that stuff."
5206644 I know, but in the introduction to the collected Cheshire Crossing he says outright that he enjoys fanfic, still writes it, and especially enjoys crossovers.
Sooooooo....yeah, I figured, why not put him to the test.

That's really cool. Hope he enjoys it!
