That took forever.

Simulations is a fic I’ve been working off and on for about six months, so it’s really nice to see it finally posted.

SPOILERS UNDER THE BREAK

The audio reading was also a lot of fun, as my live readings usually are in the patreon server. I try to do them a lot in my server because so much of my writing is amplified by having tone, and it’s also been really beneficial for people since they can listen in while they do other things. We actually had a live reading a week ago or so, for one of the BG!AU stories where a voice actor friend of mine appeared near the end to do Rarity’s lines and the ensuing chat freak out was amazing lmao

Anyway, yes!

I think generally one of my favorite parts of this fic is the fact that I was able to go ham with Rarity, and it still made sense in context. A huge part of how I interpret Rarity and Twilight’s relationship has always been the dynamic present in this fic. Rarity is dramatic, Twilight points out she’s being dramatic but still playfully goes along with it, etc etc

It was also the first time I wrote a proposal which makes sense because I prefer writing scenarios with established relationships. The “will they, won’t they” and crushing parts of a relationship are great and all sure, but I feel like there’s so much to be had from, like, the actual fully-formed relationship.

For this fic I also INDULGED MYSELF in Twilight being the suave one, which is how I headcanon she’d be in a relationship once she’s been in it for several years. So many of the RariTwi fics I read (and I’m guilty of) have Twilight as the flustered mess and Rarity as the suave one so I really enjoy doing the opposite.

Depending on how the live-reading goes along, I might start actually providing more of these outside of the patreon server, but we’ll see.
