Story Updates: Writer's Block and Ending Stories · 2:54am Jan 11th, 2020
For anyone who actually reads blogs... my sympathies.
So. The Holiday season is over, and that means less fun, happy family stuff is going on. Which means I can write more. This is Good Thing(tm). As I write stories in a rotation, the next story that needed some love was supposed to be The Legend of Trixie.
This is where Less Good News(tm) happens. See... Trixie is a tricky bit to write, and right now I'm in the weeds of the story's beginning. It's a lot of work to build up the base of the story and get the pacing just right and... the Holidays kinda threw off my groove. I feel like I needed to take a step back and prioritize things, figure out where my energy was best spent.
The Legend of Trixie is not dead. It's not even on Hiatus. But... after taking a quick break from more serious, serialized stories by writing My Little Minister: Bureaucracy is Magic, I can now clearly prioritize my running stories:
All These Midnight Days - This story is on the far side of the rotation. It's outlined, planned, and I fully intend to continue soon since I'm dying to write more Dazzlings... oops, spoilers...
The Legend of Trixie - Partially written, but something isn't clicking around the early-mid point of the chapter. This one is next up to get my full and undivided attention.
Anarchy: Pony of Chaos - There is only one chapter/arc left for my main story. While I will lovingly come back to write Ann again and again, this particular entry will be reaching its conclusion, as Ann must finally deal with the Fourth Wall, her identity as a Pony/Ponequus, and her role as a Main Character.
🎩 My Little Minister - I've got three or four stories outlined for this anthology... but it's at the back of the queue at the moment.
So, for anyone who just skips to the end of these things, I'm going to finish Anarchy first, then get back to Trixie, Midnight, and toss out a Minister story in between and/or afterward. When I feel like it and when I have time.
And that's the way it is. Bless you all for sticking by me.
