Words you never want to hear from your doctor

I’m sure most, if not all, of you have noticed the rather lengthy gap between earlier chapters and the latter ones. This often happens when, during that interval, your doctor looks at you upon releasing you from the hospital and says, “We didn’t think you were going to make it.” . . .

Four different times.

It’s been about 9 months since my last hospital stay, and--with crossed hooves--hopefully I’m due for a very long break before another one.
