Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

:ajsmug: Afternoon everyone.

:applejackunsure: Once upon a time, I heard words of wisdom. They go something like this;

"Artists are never the most stable people around. Because we create art, and creating art requires us to use our experiences to convey a certain feeling that we can't speak, we often reopen and reexamine old wounds so that we can express that feeling to others. By hurting ourselves again and again, we can continually produce art that communicates those emotions as best we can. Because, what is art, if nothing but a way to better show who and what we are?"

-Andrew Klavan (not actually a quote, but the gist of one.)

Finally, finally, finally, I was able to progress on this story. This isn't the chapter I wanted to have finished, this isn't the chapter I wanted to get past, but at the very least, it forces me to address the thing I don't want to next. There's no more time, there's nothing I can cover between now and then, all that's left is it.

Today, I finished the outline for that chapter. After struggling and procrastinating with it for literal months now, it's finally done. I believe I've still got too much to write left in this story to actually finish it before 2020, but January is a safe estimate. I have a lot of time on my hands in the coming weeks, what with christmas and my birthday and all, so we'll see. Getting over this was easily the biggest obstacle in my way to finishing this story, and now that I've actually gotten started on it, figured out exactly how I'm gonna do it, I think It's time to end it.

The Calm Before the Storm is exactly that. the next chapter is going to hurt me unlike anything I've written before, and I just hope that cutting my heart open like this gets across. There's been a lot of death in my life in 2019, and I want this to be in there too. When I start 2020, when I finally move on to The Kingdom of the Desert Sky, I want to be able to look back at the massive story that is Super and say, "I did it once, so let's do it again."

I love to write. There's little I like more than making stories and sharing them. Even though writing scenes and things like this hurts me, I couldn't imagine not doing it. Though I'll post it here, and it will be 'vaguely AU MLP fanfiction,' I'm going to attempt to make Kingdom of the Desert Sky something I can publish. It'll be the culmination of everything I've learned through the last five years I've spent learning how to craft stories, and I want it to be the best I can produce. With Super behind me, that will be the future, and it will decide what happens further on.

I'll make a proper post about 'A Growing Shadow' On the 22nd when it's done, and I hope to have the next chapter of Super done either that day, or the day after. I'll be really sitting down to focus on it over the next few days, so we'll see. When I really applied myself to a story, I wrote the whole damn thing in 5 months. I'd like to believe I can write three chapters in two weeks. The epilogue on the other hand may come a bit later.

:derpytongue2: Anyways, that's all from me. Expect some actual updates on Super in the next few weeks/days, and hopefully a complete tag to add to it too.
Until Next Time~
