Sorry for not posting this last week. I am currently without internet at home so I have to rely on public means. This hasn't really strained my writing as I only need to proofread this month's chapters, but it has delay certain posts. Either way this tidbit deals with one of the major problems in the next chapter, the problem won't be handled right away, but rather presented in this coming chapter. The most dangerous challenge of a unicorn’s life that is what Todeskampf is known to be. It is a simple battle to the death. Simple in it’s form yes, but powerful in its effect on not just the challenger but also challenged. It is a test of the greatest skills a unicorn can bring. Not to say it is an epic light show, but an often very brutal bout that push even the most masterful unicorns to the core.
Design for absolution there is only two ways to survive this bout, either you win or you serve eternal loyalty to the winner. Any other path is death plain and simple.
Todeskampf is only used when things are most dire or one is most insulted. There is no taking things back once the cry is made. The call must always be answered or else. If the one being challenged doesn’t answer by the setting of the Sun they are a wanted criminal from that day forward and are shamed for the rest of their lives and enviably banished from any form of land under the unicorn rule.
One thing that most always be certain though despite all the absolutes only unicorns can participate in Todeskampf. No other species are allow not matter what the form they may be.
