So, I have spent the last thirty or so days rummaging around in my brain, trying to think of something I could do for Halloween this year. Maybe a one-shot or a reading or something, I dunno. But all throughout October, I had not a single good idea come through my mind. I just haven't been in a spooky mood, lately. So, yesterday, I finally conceded that I wouldn't be doing anything for the holiday this year.
Then this morning came.
As I was tossing and turning in bed, I was suddenly struck by Thor's Hammer of Inspiration. I saw in my mind's eye an image of Beebee from Bug in The Basement, in his human form, going Trick-or-treating with the Crusaders and getting up to some hijinks in the process. Probably Scootaloo wanting to capitalize on his shapeshifting power to prank and scare people. A cute little one-shot to revisit our favorite Basement Bug on SpookynightTM.
Problem: It's Halloween. Like, right now. I do not have enough time to slap together a practical cover art, write the story, have my editor fix it up, and then post it here before the sun goes down and I have to go on door duty for the rest of the day.
A shame, too. I rather like that idea...
Maybe next year.
No. All Saints' Day and Dia de los Muertos are coming up. Do it. Pleaaase!
You can still have a Nightmare Night story, it would just be a lil late. Nothing wrong with that. I would love to read that, personally.
