Interview with Ravvij

“Alright, now tell me, my dear friend, what inspired your username?”
Response: I was watching an episode of M.A.S.H. a long time ago and it was a scene where "hot lips" exclaims, "we're going to be ravaged!" And then a few years later DeviantArt became a thing and I needed a name. I picked something stupid, had an epiphany two years later and used the Hooked-on Phonics way of spelling to get what I have now.
“What drew you into Mlp?”
Response: At first, it was just the episodes and my little brother convinced me to watch the first five. Then I got hooked on the YouTube creators after binging the first season and a half. What got me tumbling down the rabbit hole and making pony content came a bit later.
"Favorite pony and why?"
Response: I switch around a lot, I never have just one. But, the pony I find myself returning to most often is either Rainbow Dash or Derpy Hooves. I love Rainbow Dash's confidence and her hidden sweet side. Derpy, on the other hoof, I love for her kindness and how adorable and motherly she is. Also, I have a thing for wings. I love to fly and the idea of flying characters is very appealing to me.
“Favorite episode and why?”
Look Before You Sleep. It's probably the best example of character interaction I've seen in the show. Conflict, resolution, humor, I love the whole thing. It's hard to point to just one thing. And let's be honest, petty squabbles are fun to watch in cartoons.
“What inspires you to write?”
The same thing that inspires me to draw. I want to see something that comes into my imagination be made real, and put it out there for everyone else to enjoy too. Now if only I could stop time and get all my ideas out there right now...
“Give us the background of the author! Tell us all about you. Well in a short summary.
Response: Hmm… I don't know where to start. I've changed so much in three decades it's hard to sum up. Well, I dream too much, even as a kid. I think up ideas all the time and end up not making them. Not just for writing or drawing, I mean ideas for things you've probably never heard of. I grew up a sheltered child and had to sneak fun and my interests. The last twelve years I've been openly enjoying my hobbies and interests to their fullest and I see no reason to stop now! Gotta draw them pony butts!
“With Mlp coming to an end, tell us one thing you have learned from your experiences, and how it has helped you to grow?
Response: It's helped me in many ways, but the best that it's done for me are threefold. I'm far less depressed, I'm not nearly as angry as before, and it was there for me in my worst times. MLP has been exactly what I needed when I needed it, and I've come out a better person because of it. I don't think I'll ever not be a brony after what MLP has become for me. I've become closer to being the person I want to be as a result of the show, the fandom, and especially the friends I've made.
“Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Response: About me? I'm not sure. Just that I'm a jumbled mess of a nerd with too many interests and not enough time for everything, but I love MLP so it's a high priority of my life. Anything else, I'm sure I'll stick my foot in my mouth and eeeveryone will hear about it.
