So does anyone have any issues with my new version of "The Price of Freedom"? · 5:59am Oct 30th, 2019
Because i'm starting to get scared alot of you hate this already, despite how much effort I put into it.
Worse still, it's partly because I fear you now think i'm a sexist, or something, who hates Twilight Sparkle, which is not true. But I can't prove that with mere words, so what would be the point of trying to defend myself in that regard? All I can do is swear on my own life that I am not sexist, and I don't hate Twilight. I just want to make the story I wanted to make, but messed up because i started it wrong because I wanted to use Dusk Shine all this time, but failed.
Now, I just want to know if you folks hate this new version because of that alone, or because of how intense I made it in comparison to the original. I hope not, otherwise I fear that my right to have and use creative freedom is missing. I only want to know if you think lesser of me because of what i've done so far, and hate my new story version.
Just don't be brutal with your honesty, please.:(
Nope. I want to see the magic of friendship lose for once, permanently. Not the cliques it's done

Not quite sure that's what i meant......ah, but who gives a shit. Thank you very much for being very supportive of this.:) As long as i've got someone to enjoy what i'm doing, for all I care, it's all that matters. Hm. Kinda like Ralph.XD
I have yet to read the new version, mostly due to FiM not telling me you posted it XD
I know this comment comes from nowhere, from someone you never heard of, on a blog that's nearly two months old, so feel free to discard it.
I'm curious. What makes you think people hate The Price of Freedom (Mk. 2)?
If it's the lack of response, I wouldn't call it evidence of hate. Since the first version did get comments while the second one didn't and the first obvious difference a potential reader will catch is that it's Prince Dusk Shine rather than Princess Twilight Sparkle, though, I can understand why you'd think that's the reason nobody took the time to write a comment.
In fact, experience tells me that people on FIMFiction tend to tell you when they hate your works, rather than keep quiet about it.
I don't know why you made that change so I can't discuss much about that, but I can offer some theories as to why people would refuse to read your updated story; without hate anywhere in the priorities.
It may strike some readers as simply unnecessary. What would be the point of genderbending (to use the popular term) Twilight Sparkle? True, it might not remove anything from the character... but would it actually contribute anything either?
There's also the simple fact that people who wish to read about Twilight Sparkle want to read about, well, Twilight Sparkle. Not Dusk Shine. Even if there's literally no difference between the two characters other than which pronoun is used in the story. Which incidentally goes back to the previous point.
Interest is a fleeting thing and fanfictions take time to read. I doubt I'm the only one who scrolls past a fanfiction on this site as soon as I read something I simply don't care for in the description. That doesn't mean I hate the story or its concept, just that I'm not interested.
Still about interest... you may just have come too late. I only remember genderbent ponies being a thing back when I joined, in 2013... and I think they'd already got old by then. And I'm not sure there are that many people genuinely interested in Dusk Shine, Rainbow Blitz and the like to begin with. The name Dusk Shine may be a blast from the distant past all on its own, for all I know.
Potential readers may also click on the first chapter only to balk at this skyscraper of text. The huge paragraphs are the reason I couldn't read either version, no matter how much I wanted to see the story unfold. Subjective, but probably not something unique to me, so another reason why some people may have not commented.
