    More Headcanons

So, I gave it some thought, and I decided to throw out there more headcanon that I have for the universe of FiM. Might be stuff you already believe, might be stuff you disagree with, and there may be things you've never thought about before.

    The end is nigh...

I saw the trailer for the Friendship is Magic Season 9 premiere, and I have to admit that it's made me extremely depressed. Well, even more depressed than I usually am.

    Rewrites!

As it says on the title, I just finished some rewrites on Small Town Life, specifically Episode 17 - Meet the Parents, which was a MAJOR change at Sunny's mother's announcement of her retirement, and some edits on Short 4 and a few episodes after that.

    I'm not dead!

    Hey everyone!

I'm really sorry for the silence for the past several months, but I've been having issues trying to write Small Town Life for a while now. Early on, I was trying to make a buffer like I had before, so I could do regular updates, but then I hit a wall with the current episode, and decided to release the episodes I'd made up to that point.

The end of MLP, and my headcanon · 2:41am Oct 20th, 2019

So, this is it; My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is officially over. This beautiful, magical world we've come to know and love is closed off to us forever, though it will continue on without us. I'm glad that the show got a proper ending, giving us several answers about the lives of our beloved characters after the show, and letting us know that a new, studious unicorn will learn the magic of friendship with a new cast of characters.

I know that in my last blog post I said that I would write, and yet I haven't done much of anything since then. I just haven't felt the drive to do much writing, even with all the ideas that I've got. I know that it's going to be up to me and every other brony creator out there to keep the fires of friendship going, and I do want to get many stories written including a continuation of Small Town Life, but I'm hooked on my video games, specifically Monster Hunter World's new expansion.

I'll attempt to get some writing in, including some rewrites of a few episodes in Small Town Life that I've decided upon. I know, I've done edits before, and here I am going to rework things yet again, but I do believe that Episode 1 and Silver's original meeting with Twilight Sparkle could go much better and more naturally, not so out of character for the Princess of Friendship. After that, I do want to continue not only Small Town Life and FINALLY get it past Season 5--Yes, I know, holy shit the show is over and 3 years after I started the story it's still all the way back in Season 5--as well as to set things up for a potential sequel written in more of a snapshot episodic style, as opposed to the current sequential episodic style.

Now, with the story of the Mane 6 having ended, and the last episode showing us many things about the way their lives went, I wish to list all my bits of headcanon that I'll be operating on in the future.

1) The immortal former-princesses of Equestria are enjoying a long, well-deserved retirement in Silver Shoals. I wouldn't be surprised if they someday grow tired of lounging around, but I'm sure it'll be a century at least before that happens. Also, if another foe were to threaten Equestria, I've no doubt that Celestia and Luna would happily step up to protect their nation.

2) Applejack and Rainbow Dash are married. Certainly never saw that coming, but good for them!

3) Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich are married and have five foals together. I'm basing the number on the fact that "Little Cheese" has Boneless 6, and knowing he'd give each of their foals a Boneless toy starting with #2, ergo five foals. Plus, Pinkie Pie comes from a big family and she'd probably want a big family.

4) Fluttershy and Discord are married, and have 2 Draconequus kids, a girl and a boy. The show doesn't come out and SAY that they're married, but there's no reason why she'd need a portal from the chaos plane unless she was living there. As for the kids, well, no reason why Discord's chaos magic couldn't allow them to have foals, and I'm sure Fluttershy would want some. Plus, I have an idea featuring a kid, and if the show isn't going to continue then why not do what I want?

5) Yona and Sandbar are married, living at the Carousel Boutique, and Yona runs the shop for Rarity as she lives elsewhere (probably Canterlot) and runs her fashion empire which has grown too large to run from little Ponyville.

6) Princess Twilight Sparkle is immortal, same as the other Princesses, and she'll eventually outlive her friends. Like it or not, Celestia wouldn't have retired and passed on rule of Equestria to someone who was going to die in 60 years after watching over it for 1000 years alone. Twilight will continue to make new friends, no doubt, but she'll always remember those five friends who showed her what friendship could be.

7) Princess Cadance and Prince Shining Armor still rule over the Crystal Empire, but a grown-up Princess Flurry Heart will take control of defense of the empire when her father retires. I don't see Cadance stepping down after just 25 years of rule.

8) The School of Friendship has grown in popularity AND population since Twilight founded it; now there's just as many creatures learning there as there are ponies. The Castle of Friendship is now being used to house all the teachers and students, though Twilight's room is still clean and furnished should the Princess of Friendship decide to visit.

9) Big Mac and Sugar Belle have 3 foals together, their oldest a sturdy earth pony mare, their second a unicorn colt, and of course their third an earth pony colt. They seem a bit old for that to be their only foal together, and while we know that ponies as old as Mr. and Mrs. Cake can have foals fairly late into their lives, I think those two would have a fairly big family like Big Mac grew up with.

10) The real Grogar is long dead and gone, and will never harm anypony ever again. Having seen what Grogar's bell does, draining magic from one being and giving it to another (irregardless of their species/tribe), it's obvious now that Gusty the Great used it to drain Grogar's magic before sealing it away. Without any of his magic, he probably withered and died millennia ago.

11) Granny Smith, Grand Pear, and Goldie Delicious have all died from old age by the time of the epilogue. We see Applejack wearing Grannie's shawl, and Apple Bloom wears Goldie's.

12) Gallus is Captain of the Royal Guard. Not exactly a stretch, but I'm going to say it here anyway.

13) Silverstream, Ocellus, and Smoulder all teach at the School of Friendship now. Those three all are all seen at the school, and I don't know why they'd be hanging around as adults unless they're teaching there.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I figure I'd post what my thoughts are. Unless Hasbro comes back to Equestria and Gen 4 at some point in the future, my thoughts are just as valid as anyone else's at this moment. Feel free to disagree with my ideas here, but know that if/when I write stories about Equestria's future, I'm going to be basing them off these ideas.

To be honest, part of me hopes they don't go back; I love FiM so much, but after years of struggle our favorite group of mares has earned their peaceful, happy, fulfilling lives. If they were to show Luster Dawn's journey to discover the magic of friendship, at best it would be a repeat of the first two seasons without evil beings attacking Equestria, and at worst we'd have this new group of friends going on adventures and fighting evil while our former heroines are rendered useless. Equestria will live on peacefully without us watching over them, and our beloved characters will enjoy long, happy lives in the new golden age of peace and harmony that Twilight has brought about.

Thank you to the entire cast and crew of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for bringing us nearly a decade of friendship, magic, laughs, and adventures. Even if Gen 5 and beyond never come close to this level of quality, I'll always be grateful for what we got here.

I like this head canon, I wonder how tempest is doing and we never got to see any bat ponies =<

I do wish we would have gotten episodes dedicated to both Zebras and Bat Ponies as well. Maybe we'll get something in the Season 10 comic, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
