Hey everyone!
I'm really sorry for the silence for the past several months, but I've been having issues trying to write Small Town Life for a while now. Early on, I was trying to make a buffer like I had before, so I could do regular updates, but then I hit a wall with the current episode, and decided to release the episodes I'd made up to that point.
Right now, I'm still at that same episode, basically stuck. What made it worse was that Monster Hunter World came out and ate up a lot of my time for the past several months, and though I needed the break from my writing, it hasn't helped to get the episode finished. What I've decided is to actually do some further editing and rewriting of a major scene in episode 17, and some little edits on episodes after that.
The problem I'm currently facing is twofold; first, there's this big argument/discussion that I've been trying to work on, but it's hard between trying to make it flow naturally while also pushing it towards the topics I want it to. Second is the fact that I've set these past few episodes up as merely bullet-points, and then tried to work from there to write a full story. Early on, with the first 10 episodes, I had everything pretty well planned out, even if things didn't end up going exactly the way I thought they would as character interactions naturally flowed this way or that, or I'd decide that an idea didn't work out quite how I planned. Still, it worked better than what I've been doing, and I'm going to try making proper outlines of my episodes and other stories from now on.
I'll let you all know as soon as those edits are done, and then hopefully I'll be able to get Episode 22 finished and sent out for your reading pleasure. Once that's done though, I'm going to put Small Town Life on a bit of a hiatus (intended this time) so I can work on some one-shots I've had planned for a while. I think it'll help me to figure out my pre-writing system, and perhaps allow me to come back to Small Town Life fresh and with new ideas.
I'm still here, working on my stories, and I'll keep on writing even after the show ends. You can't get rid of me that easily!
