    More Headcanons

So, I gave it some thought, and I decided to throw out there more headcanon that I have for the universe of FiM. Might be stuff you already believe, might be stuff you disagree with, and there may be things you've never thought about before.

The end of MLP, and my headcanon

So, this is it; My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is officially over. This beautiful, magical world we've come to know and love is closed off to us forever, though it will continue on without us. I'm glad that the show got a proper ending, giving us several answers about the lives of our beloved characters after the show, and letting us know that a new, studious unicorn will learn the magic of

    The end is nigh...

I saw the trailer for the Friendship is Magic Season 9 premiere, and I have to admit that it's made me extremely depressed. Well, even more depressed than I usually am.

    Rewrites!

As it says on the title, I just finished some rewrites on Small Town Life, specifically Episode 17 - Meet the Parents, which was a MAJOR change at Sunny's mother's announcement of her retirement, and some edits on Short 4 and a few episodes after that.

    I'm not dead!

    Hey everyone!

I'm really sorry for the silence for the past several months, but I've been having issues trying to write Small Town Life for a while now. Early on, I was trying to make a buffer like I had before, so I could do regular updates, but then I hit a wall with the current episode, and decided to release the episodes I'd made up to that point.

So, I gave it some thought, and I decided to throw out there more headcanon that I have for the universe of FiM. Might be stuff you already believe, might be stuff you disagree with, and there may be things you've never thought about before.

-Princess Celestia directed the Apple family to found Ponyville so that there would be a town near the old castle and the Elements of Harmony when her sister returned. She wanted a place nearby to set that infamous Summer Sun Celebration, where potential new bearers could gather.

-Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns was founded with two purposes in mind; the first was to train powerful young unicorns to use their magic responsibly, and the second was to have a group of powerful, talented unicorns to move the sun and moon should something happen to the princess. For a millennium, Princess Celestia ruled alone, and she was responsible for keeping all life going by maintaining the day/night cycle; if an enemy struck her down, then there would need to be a group of powerful unicorns to take control of the cycle once more like in ancient times, or else all life on their world would cease.

-Princess Celestia was actually acting terribly throughout "Horse Play" in an attempt to get Twilight to treat her as an equal, like she had wanted ever since Twilight became a princess.

-The five small stars surrounding the starburst of Twilight's cutie mark represent her friends and their destiny together. That big white one behind her purple star may also represent Spike, and his constant place at her side.

-Rarity, being inspired by the creatures she taught at the School of Friendship, was the first pony fashion designer to design clothing for other creatures. This meant that she was the sole supplier in this huge, previously untapped market, and it quickly made her into one of the wealthiest and most influential fashion designers in Equestria.

-Princess Luna only controlled the moon, not the stars. It's a fairly common thing in pony fics for people to believe that Luna not only brought the night, but controlled the stars like she did the moon. We know for a fact that every star is another sun many light-years away with its own surrounding planets, and it makes no sense for Luna or Celestia to have the power to move those distant celestial objects.

-The mixed day and night sky in the Season 4 premiere was a failsafe planned by Celestia and Luna should something happen to them; without the sisters around to move the sun and moon, there would be a narrow band around the world where life wouldn't either freeze or burn up under constant night/day, and they ensured that said band would exist through the center of Equestria. Of course there's the idea above that the School for Gifted Unicorns was formed in part to gather powerful unicorns for the purpose of moving the heavenly bodies, but the fact is that it would take time to get that plan working (assuming that this generation had enough powerful unicorns to enact it), so this bought the world (or at least Equestria) time.

Hearth's Warming Eve is a separate holiday from Hearth's Warming Day; both equally celebrated, but for different reasons. Hearth's Warming Eve celebrates the bonds of friendship that formed between the tribes, which were needed to found Equestria, and so the day is spent with friends. Hearth's Warming Eve not only celebrates the friendships of today, but acknowledges the time and effort needed for the tribes to come together in friendship. Even if the leaders of the three tribes were convinced by their subordinates that working together as one nation was the best way, I've no doubt that it took weeks or even months after their declaration of unity for old wounds to heal and the tribes to live in harmony. I always wondered why the show went on and on about Hearth's Warming Eve but not about the day itself, and then I realized that forming friendship between the tribes was just as important as the foundation of Equestria, more important even. So, Hearth's Warming Eve is a day celebrating friendship, and Hearth's Warming Day celebrates the foundation of Equestria, as well as family bonds.

Next up is my headcanon regarding cutie marks specifically, and how they work. Much of it has been at least strongly hinted at in the show.

-Princess Celestia and Princess Luna can move the Sun and Moon thanks to their cutie marks, though Celestia has the raw magical power to be able to move the moon. Luna's cutie mark also grants her the ability to dreamwalk. The latter part is just "duh" thanks to that episode where they switched cutie marks, but I thought I may as well point it out anyway.
