-10/12/2019: The airdate of the grand finale of MLP: FIM. This is almost the exact anniversary of the show's premiere (10/10/2010) - certainly the closest Saturday. IT'S ALSO THE FULL MOON.
Hasbro does not get sentimental about dates. They can't even land a holiday special within two months of the actual holiday. These dates were chosen deliberately by the suits in charge of scheduling.
One must therefore conclude that these episode air dates were chosen by COSMIC FORCES, namely Princess Celestia and Princess Luna themselves. It's proof that they are still watching over us, even though, they are retiring from Equestrian government.
The finale is a moment to be celebrated, not mourned.
