Penny Sisi Sillon, , or more often referred to as Penny or Doctor Penny is a humanoid Space Alicorn and a recurring character in My Brave Pony Starfleet Magic. Her head design is of Dr. Fauna, and her name is a pun off of the drug "penicillin", while her middle name "Sisi" is a pun of medical measurements "CC."

DESCRIPTION IN THE SERIES

Penny is the chief medical residence of the former Rainbow City Hospital, and later, New Ponyville Hospital. She is very kind and polite most of the time, but she can be strict and no-nonsensical when she has to be, especially when it comes to the concern and well-being of her patients. She is highly skilled and trained in medicine and medical care, and is never unwilling to help out when help is needed.

She can also be very insistent to those who would deviate from her instructions, refuse their routine checkups and required shots.

Prior to the series, Penny explains to Lightning how her grandmother succumbed to a deadly illness which inspired her to study medicine and pursue her medical career in a desire to aid others and try to save lives as best as she could.

Apart from her medical professions, in the first season Penny was shown to be a part-time fitness instructor and had her own group exercise program, where all sorts of ponies, Starfleet or Civilian alike can get a good workout.

She is also known to be a bit of a scientific inventor, as she has developed a Memory Machine, a Shrink Ray, and an X-Ray Otoscope.

SEASON 1

Penny is first introduced when Lightning Dawn visits Rainbow City for the first time, and she stops him in the middle of the street and states the law saying that all newcomers were to have a routine psychical.

Onward, Penny becomes a trusted friend, and reveals to Lightning the story of her sick grandmother and how the trauma inspired her to pursue her medical career to save lives.

Penny also invited Lightning and Starla Shine to participate in her fitness routine.

SEASON 2

After giving the Cake Twins, Pound and Pumpkin, their checkup, Penny notices Pinkie Pie has had her required booster-injection and demands she have it.

In the same episode, When Fluttershy became sick with Acute Appendicitis, Penny offered to operate on her, only for her to become infected by a Changeling that took control of her mind causing her to act against her will. She rushed the operation ahead of schedule, and began to forcibly and willfully botch the procedure in attempts to kill Fluttershy, but this was anticipated by Lightning and friends whom had switched Fluttershy with a puppet clone of her.

The Changeling was eradicated from Penny and defeated, and Penny remorsefully apologized for her actions, though the others knew she was not to blame for what happened, and gives Fluttershy a successful surgery.

Season 3

While helping to care for the insane inmates of the insane asylum on Planet Xandra. Penny reveals to Lightning and his friends (whom are just visiting) Her invention-- The Memory Machine-- which is able to read and show thoughts and memories of each subject, which was her attempt to use for amnesic patients who had lost their memories, and more-importantly, a lie-detector to use on Trial Stands to preclude and fibbing, which Lightning and Friends use to gather and record their memories of the past to present to a Starfleet Conference of the histories and facts of the organization.

SEASON 4

When Queen Celestia falls to a blood illness, and is being prepared for surgery, Penny is specifically requested by Grand Ruler Celesto to head in the procedure. While Penny is exceedingly doubtful, the operation is a success and Celestia is save. However, Penny informs the others that she, Celestia, is very weak and needs to time to recover, but will live.

As such, Penny was a awarded a prestigious gold medal for her excellence and services, which she would wear on her white coat from then on.

HUMAN IN UNITED EQUESTRIA

Penny makes a brief appearance (And her only appearance in any of the movies) where she is summoned to examine the unconscious human, Mykan Stevens, but is astonished with the others as to find a human in their world.

SEASON 5

When Pinkie Pie is infected by King Pinar's minions (Which were intended for Lightning, but Pinkie got them by mistake) Penny shows Lightning her newest invention-- A Shrink Ray-- which can temporarily shrink beings down to microscopic size, which she explains was intended to be used so that she and her teams could enter bodies and do battle virus and make repairs to the inner-systems themselves whereas ordinary methods would not succeed.

The Shrink Ray's effects only last for thirty minutes, which Penny warns Lightning to complete his mission and be out of the body fast.

When the Insects take control of Pinkie's body, they make her thrash and beat about, knocking Penny against the wall and unconscious, but she is forgiven in the end.

SEASON 6

Penny takes the Cutiemark Crusaders with her, during a workday field trip to help give needed booster injections to the citizens of White Tail Village, where they discovered that more than half the populace is Anti-Starfleet, and that they bully and taunt all those who are the opposite and support the force.

She is briefly scene in another episode giving baby Shining Light a checkup.

When Daphne Dill is inadvertently poisoned from eating a laced apple that was intended for another pony, Penny discovered the poison and operates on DD at once, then orders her to get aplenty of bed rest if she is to heal.

SEASON 8

Penny makes a brief appearance where she is seen examining the pregnant Starla, and tells her to take it easy and get plenty of rest for her baby to be healthy.

SEASON 8

After Mykan Stevens' first experience in the Digital World, she examines him to see if anything about him has changed only to find him fit and fine, but she is sworn into secrecy of the Super Cyber Data Squad by order of Lightning, and continues to give exams to Mykan and the CMC after every battle.

When Rarity, Tree Hugger and Fluttershy go into labor, and Rarity's starts to give her trouble (Due to it being a mixed breed) Penny and her staff try to take care of her, only for the hospital systems to be infected by the evil Megadox, throwing the staff into a panic to try and get back online to help their patients.

In the end, the systems are back online, and Penny is able to assist in the baby deliveries, though it is unknown which baby she delivered.

When the hospital is attacked by another mega-virus monster, Penny is better-prepared and activates emergency generators and cuts sources to ensure the hospital stays working.
