Commissions are now officially open to everyone! · 10:17pm Sep 20th, 2019

I've been doing commissions through Patreon for a while, but more and more of my commissions ended up being for people who weren't Patreon supporters -- people who just wanted to pay one flat price for the commission. So now I've finally adapted to that and made it official: anyone can request commissions!

Everything you need to know is on my brand new Commissions Roster and Information Page. The most important thing is that Patreon supporters now get discounts on commissions -- up to 90% off! So if you support me on Patreon, you might save a lot of money on getting commissions done.

So if there’s something you really want me to write, now you have your chance!

Is there a particular reason you have the default price at $18.60 per 1k words?

It's such an oddly specific number

It was based off my Patreon income level a few months ago, which was $186 per 10k words. I thought about rounding it up to $20 for now, but I’m making enough changes for one time right now ... it would be a bit impolitic to also increase the price at the same time.

Well, you could go and reduce it to 15$ instead, then the price would be round too. :trollestia:

It's a good news that you accept commissions from everyone now! Hopefully that will reduce the NSFW commissions and balance them out with SFW ones, so that you'll write some really engaging stories with an actual story again! :yay:
The price you've set feels very high, but it's justified with your talent. What does "First Open Pony Slot" at the bottom mean?

For a ghostwritten story -- a story that you're free to post under your own name as if you wrote it, where you own the copyright and all other rights, and where I won't publish it anywhere else

Time to spot your style and figure out which ponyfics have been written by you. :scootangel:

Heresy! Anathema! Blasphemy!
Really though, my waiting list is already too long -- the last thing I need to be doing right now is making it cheaper!

I actually have been doing some major progress on SFW stories lately, but (aside from Batsy Fluffentuft) none of it has been published, so only Patreon supporters have been reading it so far.

1000 words of writing (plus planning and editing) usually takes at least an hour ... so consider it an hourly pay rate, maybe? $18.60 per hour is a pretty decent wage ... but it’s skilled specialized work, and as long as my waiting list is overwhelmingly long, it must be worth it.
(Oh, and there’s always the Patreon discounts, which can make that a lot lower.)

The next request for a MLP story would go into that slot. Since I have less furry commissions lined up right now, the first open furry slot is actually a lot higher, so a new furry story commission would be added in that slot.

Just wanted to put that out there as a premium option. I haven’t actually done any ghostwritten stories yet...
Or have I? :trollestia:
(It really would be interesting to find out what stories around here people think are written in my style...)

I'm familiar with that. Right now, I'm writing a story for Kettle Corn, after her recent appearance in "The Last Laugh" inspired me. But I'm actually not even writing it yet.
Letting aside depressions that affected my ability to think straight enough to work on stories because they aren't part of the work process that goes into the story, I have to do a lot of research for that story since it's about a topic I lack knowledge about. And doing that research includes to watch a lot of movies, to get a feel for certain..... mechanics (which doesn't mean sex, it's not a clopfic, I don't write Foalcon myself), so that I actually understand them.
And while that sounds pretty chilled and relaxed, and it is fun to do it and see my knowledge that I need to write this story grow, it's not entirely without sacrifices. For one, I'm really eager to write that story and I feel like the research is unnecessarily slowing me down, even though I really need it, and for second, I have to watch non-pony movies, which I don't care about and even annoy me, for that. Only knowing that I'm doing it for a filly I love is making that bearable.
If there ever was someone who said authors have an easy life and easy work (and I bet there are a lot of people who believe that), then they are completely wrong.
