Hi guys! Just doing a short post. Writing has been inching along, but I'm hoping next week will be the big break. Son starts kindergarten (yay!) which gives me quite a bit of time before my night shift to squeeze some creative time in. Cross your fingers! I'm hoping to get updates for WTEtG and HCHL out before October comes. After that I'll focus on my original writing for a while longer (google "Illise Montoya eikasia novel") and then go around the horn again. I've actually got another pony fic in the wings that I've never finished. It was supposed to be a one-shot OC story which was why I never gave it priority, but it'd be nice to get that out before Halloween. It's a supernatural mystery.
Was thinking of doing a Music for Writing post again, but I keep putting it off. I've been rediscovering some music lately and was just reminded why I gravitated towards certain artists-- inspiration! Maybe I'll have something put together soon. Don't even ask me about Overpriced Writing Advice, lol. The next post was supposed to be about POV, but it was giving me a headache.
On a completely unrelated note, I will forever resent Buffy the Vampire Slayer for introducing the "musical episode" into pop culture. I know that's not a popular opinion, and sure whatever, Once More With Feeling was breaking new ground at the time, but I didn't even like the episode. The songs weren't that great, IMO. Anyway... I'm watching Riverdale season 3 episode 16, and they're using the Heathers musical songs to compliment the story. I'm pretty sure they did a musical episode before, but it's grating on my nerves a bit because of the sudden tonal shift. Not that this show is all that great, but hey, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
