State of the author — Crikey-August-Already? Edition

Working on 4 hours of sleep (unrelated plain vanilla insomnia to what I'm about to say, no need to worry), so I'll keep this snappy.

Have a dead tooth & fistula, and due to all the vacations during the summer—and to be fair me not being in any pain with otherwise mild symptoms, my dentist has had me wait since May for treatment. With my time for treatment finally upcoming the coming Friday.

Not in much pain, I've kept up with my day-to-day stuff, no problem paying for it, and not looking for sympathy or anything like that.

Still, having that low-grade infection for this long has kinda sapped a lot mentally from me, so I've been something of an uncreative coach-potato beyond need-to-do chores, cooking and stuff. Hadn't even really considered how little writing I'd gotten done until somebody asked how things were going, checked the calendar, and realized that it's freaking August already.

So... yeah. Just thought you guys might want an FYI update.
