Updated updates, and some rather exciting news!

First off, I finally finished the second chapter and the epilogue of Gallus. I'm probably going to take a day or two to do some more proofreading and last-minute streamlining, but for the most part it is in a somewhat-complete state!

Second off, I also finished writing a short sequel to my first fic, Familial Words. I'm probably going to click the submit button at the same time that I publish Gallus, so keep your eyes peeled for that. The working title is Someone's Child, but don't be surprised if that changes (it probably won't, but still).

And last, but far from least, one of my stories, by virtue of being a contest entry, actually got reviewed by another user!

By who, you might ask? Well, none other than the one and only PresentPerfect!

Not to give anything away, but this is a story in a vein of comedies I've not seen in quite some time. It's a real blast from the past that way, for all that it's relevant to current events. I felt really dumb for not figuring things out sooner. XD

I honestly don't know what to say. I knew going in that a bunch of big names were going to be judging the contest entries, but to see one of them come out and say that they liked something I made... it's such a strange feeling, and I absolutely love it.

I don't think I'll win the contest, or even come close (quite honestly, I'll be amazed if I made it to the second round), but this was a perfectly satisfactory victory in and of itself. So once again, thank you for the kind words, PresentPerfect!

I apologize for "tooting my own horn," so to speak, but I just really wanted to talk about that. :)
