There are so many reasons this is a shitty way to let her character bow out
When teaching children that their gender identity isnt something that's invalidated by what they're interested in, its important for that to encompass so called stereotypes as well as so called conflicting attributes
Ergo, Its just as important to show that little girls (and boys) can be like Rarity as much as they can be like Rainbow Dash, in that sense Rarity has always been a great example of a character for whom 'stereotypical femininity' isn't shown as weakness
But instead of valuing that, in apparently the seeking of creepy fanservice, the shows best character is reduced to a paper-thin, sexist trope of the snobby woman who won't go out with our plucky hero then wants him back the second he's with someone else to the point of going 'crazy'
'Crazy jealous possessive conniving woman' for Rarity. Thanks for that, definitely dont go halves when you want a tired misogynistic message to send out to an audience that will contain tonnes of young girls
