There's a lot more developing with the characters and how that will progress the story. I hope none of my readers think that a lot of these things are just happening randomly or done for the sole purpose of creating drama or tension. Some of them do create drama and tension, but a lot of the slow build-ups and lines drawn between different ideas, or at least the perceived notions from the others, all serves a purpose for the much larger story at hand.
Think of it in terms of "The higher the rise, the stronger the fall."
Keep in mind there are a lot of things still not being addressed at the moment. Things like:
-What happened to Trixie?
-What is Discord doing?
-What is Celestia planning (better question: What did Celestia and Twilight talk about the night she escorted Twilight back to her castle?)
-How many other missing conversations haven't been presented, and what were they about?
-Why was Granny Smith so accepting of Kelly, and potentially Lumberman?
-How will the Darkness come into play?
With those things now in the back of your mind, some other things I'd like to mention. Namely, that I have finally broken 300 views (small victories, I know). But regardless, I never really put much thought or held any expectations towards viewership. Even still, my consistent reader count is probably only about a quarter of that number.
But looking at some of the other numbers 49 people are tracking my story (you all are awesome, by the way, and I hope I'm not letting you down), and I'm on 153 bookshelves. So, I think with the aid of my awesome editor, the groups my story has been added to, and maybe even the art I've been adding along with the story, there is a lot of room for growth and maybe even starting a small community together.
I'm not saying any of this to brag, and not just because those numbers aren't brag-worthy, but because I'm so glad to be able to find others that enjoy my work and can hopefully take something away from it.

Good to hear, I'm actually about a 1000 words into my next chapter. I finally decided to pick things up again. Sadly I read through my previous chapters a bit. And oh man. Errors everywhere. I need to get an editor or a proof reader soon, trying to be self-sufficient isn't working for me ha. And additional art you say, Interesting. When you do finish this current story do you intend on writing another HiE based story or something different?

This story is going to have at least 4 arches to it. So I don't know when I would be able to get to a second story separate from CTTB. I might end up doing a set of side stories that give more focus to the erotic relationships that develop, since I don't necessarily want this story to focus on clop, though it will be inevitable to happen, if not essential to the plot.
I have thought of another HiE story, but haven't gotten passed the initial premise.

Interesting nonetheless. With my story I was thinking of breaking it down into arcs myself, but I feel I'd be over ambitious with it, and would have it fail before it even gets off the ground. I'm just writing until I feel it's finished. I can understand that clop standpoint. At one point I questioned should I have a more [nsfw] attacks be done to my character or maybe situations?, or just play it cool with [sfw] stuff. Up to this point it's been mostly safe for work. I think the side stories idea you mentioned would work pretty well. Many other authors actually do that with clop. Usually they sometimes even make a separate account to do so.

I can't really remove the sexual components from my story, as it will play such an integral role into the future set of events as well as how I use to for character development. I just don't want it to become a focal point that washes out the characters personality and detract from the story.
At least not unless I do the side story route for it.
