I just wanted to clear this up since i feel like im answering this question a lot in several different ways.
There isn't going to be a fourth story in the Soarindash series. Piercing the Heavens IS the final story (despite being hysterically long). We are currently in the third story arc of Piercing the Heavens. There have been more than one occassions where i've mentioned that a fourth arc is happening after and people think i mean a fourth story and the First and Second arcs were Head in the Clouds and Flying Sky High, along with people thinking that Piercing the Heavens is on the verge of ending where we are in the story right now.
No. We're not even close. The correct arrangement of whats going on is as follows:
First story: Head in the Clouds
Second story: Flying Sky High
Third Story: Piercing the Heavens
A. Story Arc 1: The Wonderbolt Tryouts (Chapter 1-27)
B. Story Arc 2: Wonderbolt Life and Love (Chapter 28-70)
C. Story Arc 3: Shadows of Fading Wonder (Chapter 71-Present) <-----YOU ARE HERE
D. Story arc 4: Calm Wind is Somehow Still Doing This (Chapter WheneverArc3Ends - Chapter WhoKnowsButItsMoreThanWhateverCalm'sExpecting)
There's going to be a very short break in between Arc 3 and 4 of PTH to write a small fun sequel to Weight of Responsibility to detail what Thunderlane was up to between arc 2 and 3 of PTH.
After Piercing the Heavens? Well when that happens in 500 years I'm probably going to keep writing here with all these characters, but im not going to do a long story again. I'll probably start a new 'story' thats a collection of short stories within my world focusing on different characters in either fun or serious situations, i could even jump around the PTH timeline a bit in case i want to have fun with a situation i didnt get a chance to expand on more in the story (Like Spitfire's bum tingling over Wave, More Fleetfoot escapades, or more drill sergeant Silver)
But for now, refer to the diagram above. That's the planned order of things. I was just getting tired of typing it out over and over again lol

i've been getting the question constantly during the current sequence in PTH, a lot of PM's about it mostly. So i decided to knock it out all at once.

Yep, it's gonna be a quick fun little sequel, probably the same length as the first but with plenty of cute packed into it. I should probably also get the third short that focuses on Shining Cadence and Twilight out at some point, the second was ended with Comet Tail seeming perfect on purpose so i could dive deeper into his character in the third, but i have no idea when that's going to happen. So for now he's just some ultra-chad who made a princess swoon on a whim.
I'm taking my bets on somewhere between 200-250 chapters, and 2.5-3 million words. I don't know what you have planned in your Top Secret Outline (and I don't want to, that's part of the fun!), but it will probably be somewhere in that range.
Guess I should probably read Weight of Responsibility now. (You can send me the gdoc if you want, I noticed it said it hasn't been edited. I'll make sure to turn on suggestions this time, haha.

It probably won't be as long as arc 3, and i say that confidently because arc three was WOEFULLY underestimated to the point where i've often viewed chapter 100 as a point that i should have split it into two arcs. A lot of parts in arc 3 that don't cover a lot of time progression in the plot ended up taking a hysterical amount of space.
I'd have to go dig out all the word docs and put them into gdocs if they were to be edited, but honestly i'd say don't bother, at this point its been there for so long that i don't intend to spend time going back to fix anything.

Yeah, I get that. I still have psd's of drawings I made 3 years ago, mostly as a reminder of how far I've come. There's a lot of mistakes and things that could use improvement, but why bother fixing them?
Arc 3 would have been better split into two sections: one for the Shadowbolts/Renegades and one for the whole Soarin/Sombra arc. Oh well, too late to change that now.

So what I took from this is that PtH is ending, arc 4 is a brand new 4th story of the series, there's going to be a story based on Silver's life that mainly revolves around him training Soarin and Spitfire, and the sky is actually green.

I wouldn't mind a story about the lead squad when they were younger, especially Soarin and Spitfire's childhood.
Or more little shorts with Silver and Blizzard.

seeing as how most of my PTH chapters are 3-4 times longer than Weight of Responsibility was as a whole i dont think you need to worry
