One year ago, I made this account and uploaded The Mask of Despair. Since then it’s had two-hundred forty views, no more than sixty-six total readings, fifteen votes (thirteen up, two down) twenty-two comments, and zero reviews. A single person contacted me with some detailed thoughts regarding the story.
I’ve also uploaded five other stories, for a total of one-hundred ninety-two thousand and thirteen (192,013) words of fiction, which the site estimates would take twelve hours to read. Those six stories have eighty-six votes, only nine of which were down-votes. My story with the best up-vote to down-vote ratio is The Gift. There have been fifty-seven comments. I have a total of one-thousand eight-hundred sixteen views, of which The Alicorn Limit has nine-hundred sixty-two, four times the views of my next most popular story and not quite fifty-three percent of all my views. I’ve made three protagonist original characters, with a handful of supporters. I’ve had three reviews of one story which is also my least read, The Nightmare Night Knightmare. All of my stories share the same continuity.
Over the last year, I’ve joined twenty-one groups, made twenty-four followers, and followed twenty-eight other users myself. Eight comments have been made on my user page. I’ve posted eighteen blogs, including this one. I’ve asked for three pieces of art, of which I am using two as covers. I have asked for an editor once and had a single response. Unfortunately, I was unable to afford the requested price for their efforts.
I am working on one story at this time, the sequel to The Mask of Despair. I have written twenty-five thousand words, give or take, on that story.
I am not the most prolific writer on this site, not by a long shot. I am not the most well known or well respected, I never thought I would be. Nevertheless, here I am. I started writing The Mask of Despair because I had the thought to examine the life of one pony without a cutie-mark, and I felt I needed more practice at writing. So I thought to myself “whatever it takes to get me writing, even My Little Pony fanfiction.” It was only later that I came to the realization that even the worst fanfiction, no matter the content or quality, is still a better work of art than the greatest story which is never told.
So here I am, writing “My Little Pony” fanfiction.
