My first Shipfic · 8:18pm Feb 15th, 2020
So yesterday I wrote my first Shipfic, and it’s doing alright. 60+ views, 8 upvotes, a dozen-or-so favorites. (Nothing I’ve done can come close to competing with The Alicorn Limit, though.) I had wanted to get it done for Hearts & Hooves day, but I didn’t get around to really working on it until yesterday. Didn’t finish until 2am.
It does what I wanted to, although I think maybe I should add a quick bit about Dash reluctant to go Sonic Rainboom speeds again, once she can fly. It would amount to only a line or two, and add very little to the story.
It’s good to be writing again, I haven’t done any since the end of November. 6,300 in one day, not bad.
As for Ash of Fallen Stars, I’ve got the rest uploaded and ready to release. It’s got another 10 chapters before it ends. (that feels short… only a tad over 51k words total, not even half the length of Mask of Despair) A few weeks ago I asked for some advice on tags, and switching Sad out for Mystery has made a surprising difference. 12 new views. (Being that it was at 78, that’s a 9.5% increase in viewers. Hey, I’ll take what wins I can get.)
That’s not even close to the end of Stardust and Luna’s story though. There’s still plenty to come. Mask of Despair and Fallen Stars both take place mid-late season 7, so there’s still the Pony of Shadows out there. Then after that, a storm on the horizon, a lunatic Pegasus, and the Princess’s retirement. All my stories take place more-or-less within canon, and all within the same continuity. (which, yes, I’ve said before.)
That's all, nothing else interesting to say.
