Trying new things, polishing old ones

During the time I was working from home (shortly after the start of quarantine), I discovered the sword-and-sorcery genre. After happening upon audio readings of stories by Robert E. Howard on YouTube, I began immersing myself in the adventures of Solomon Kane and Conan of Cimmeria. Having played Dungeons & Dragons in high school (and still keeping up with every edition of the game since),

Why Diamond Tiara does not attend Crystal Prep Academy

(Aside from the fact that CPA was not introduced until the third movie)

    I recently formulated an explanation:

The Filthy Rich of the Equestria Girls universe was once romantically involved with Abacus Cinch. Although their individual ambitions ultimately led them to drift apart, they remain friends.

    Shadow Five Headcanons

Just recording these thoughts before I call it a night... thought I’d share these for kicks and giggles:

    Sunny Flare

    • Physically the second-smallest of the Shadow Five.
    • Principal Cinch’s niece.
    • A bit of a germaphobe.
    • For some reason, I imagine her being of Italian descent (I have her cheer "bravissima!" in one story).

    Back to the Daily Grind

    Hello everyone!

These last couple of weeks have been quite busy, but productive. Last month, after working from home for nearly six months, I went back to work onsite at my day job. It was a bit of an adjustment going back to a commuting schedule, but it does feel good to get out of the house, even just as part of a daily grind (with all precautions taken of course).

Still At It · 7:35am May 22nd, 2019

Even with RL intruding on my creative time, this past March and April were my most productive months to date, with the publication of Our Principal Is A Belly Dancer, Where Are The Unicorns? and The Legacy Will Endure.

As I juggle several non-pony projects, a few story ideas continue to dance in my head:

  • The Shadowbolts and Rainbooms gather at Rarity's for a belly dance party. No angst over acceptance this time around - just an evening of hummus, hip-shaking, and fun!
  • Starlight Glimmer pays a visit to the human world. As she spends an afternoon with Sunset and Sci-Twi, she learns about the latter's belly dancing hobby. Intrigued, she decides to give it a try, as does Sunset. Sci-Twi is all too happy to teach them!
  • Starlight Glimmer leads a guerilla insurgency against the Storm King's forces during the occupation of Canterlot.

Time and inspiration permitting, I wouldn't mind doing another horror story involving Crystal Prep Academy.

I enjoyed Spring Breakdown just a little bit more than I did Rollercoaster of Friendship. It was a nice change of pace to go without a villain/monster-of-the-week, and instead, have the girls deal with hazards both natural and otherwise. With the most recent shorts taking place at a music festival, I'm hoping that we'll see an adaptation of the Starswirl Do-Over, complete with the Dazzlings!

More as the Wheel turns.

Awe can't wait to see these

It's funny how things turn out, isn't it, with Real Life and writing? My most productive periods of writing when I was in college always, always was during finals season and when I had to do big term papers (and as an English major, I had plenty of those). And yet when vacation rolled around, I'd have so much more free time and yet so little inclination to do the writing that I by all rights would have WANTED to. :applejackconfused:

Anyway, glad to hear that you've got further story ideas churning around, a lot of them sound pretty interesting.
