Minor Update · 8:50pm May 15th, 2019
I'm fucking dying. My sinuses are actually killing me, and sometimes I wonder if this time, I just won't wake up in the morning.
My imminent death aside, Star Overhead 7 is finally fully outlined and is in the writing phase. it took a while because this is less of an 'event driven' chapter and more of a dialogue driven chapter. The way this has gone so far is that I'll have some things I want done in a chapter, and I'll fill in the holes until I get to said things. Sometimes with X does Y with Z (Applejack exploring how her parents got together), and other times with just lines of dialogue (Drunken Celestia). here, it's been almost strictly dialogue and I've rewritten a few things a few times.
Writing kinda took a backseat in the weeks after Bran-New Lovesong went out because My Boss took a few days off (Which turned out to be a pretty restless, shitty few days off), and I had to manage the shop. Normally, my job doesn't require much of my attention as I'm not the one constantly planning and sending out drivers. As such, I spend a lot of that writing or planning what I'll write next when I'm not needed. However, this job has the ability to be wasteful of time and time consuming all at once when you;re running things. It's not very intense, but you have to be around to answer questions, get information, and enter data when needed, sometimes around the clock. My May 6th was not a fun day (Up at 3 am for this very reason).
But, now that I'm not the only one working, My time has returned to me, and after some struggles and inability to figure out how to get where I wanted, I made a breakthrough today and finish the outline and the first scene in this chapter. Should be out by next Tuesday. I'll probably post this as a separate chapter, but SO will get an epilogue set somewhere about 8 years after these events. I want to put this out at the same time as chapter 7 so that the story is 'truly' finished when I set it to complete.
Once star is done, Super will resume, and that will be the thing I focus on until it's done. I learned a lot writing Star, and i think some of the reocurring themes that I tend to write were really used best in this story, and hopefully that will translate into Super's ending, which should also be around the corner. I do want to take a week to reread at least a chunk of super again before I go at it, so don't expect anything until the end of the month or early June.
In other news, I ate through my savings and have now paid for my flight and hotel to go to Bronycon! I don't know how much printing Star Overhead is going to cost, but damn it, we're doing this! With any luck, I'll have a good chunk of cash to take with me to Baltimore after getting the book printed, so for now, it's looking like things are going smoothly.

I'm now also working on something else, and I believe I want to do a series of illustrations for each Chapter of Star Overhead. I rewatched Fooly Cooly again because I was struggling with the last chapter, and decided that It would be cool to try and do something similar to each episode's title card, but as like its own page in the book before each chapter. Another thing I want to do is make a playlist somewhere that has the pillows song that goes with every scene in the story. Most chapters were written to either their entire discography (after 1997 starting with Please Mr. Lost Man) or a few songs specifically related to any of the FLCLs with some of my personal favorites.
Anyways, that's all from me. More to come when I actually post SO 7 and the epilogue.
TL;DR: I'm not dead, but dying, SO 7+ probably next week, Bronycon is officially paid for, I'm doing art again and stuff, and I'll probably do a series of title cards for the chapters of this story.
