I think my job is trying to give me PTSD.

I was awoken by a phone call this morning. Work asked me to come in, as things were crazy. I did so, was there from around 9:30 AM to 6PM. Worked without a lunch break, I might add.

    The Moral Event Horizon.

Gonna discuss another trope today in relation to the Quiververse. In this case, it's the Moral Event Horizon. In simple terms, this is the point a character passes that forever marks them as EVIL and potentially irredeemable. TVTropes itself lists a few examples from FiM, and I won't repeat them here...though I will say that

    It never ends. It just...never...ends...

So work decided to throw another curve ball at me. My supervisor has been transferred to another store. That means that I've had six supervisors in my department across six years, and it could take weeks, maybe even months, for us to get a new one. Which means I'm going to continue to be worked to death.

    So, I'm writing again.

It's not much, but I got some writing done today. Now, be warned, it's going to be a very long time before I do anything related to the Quiververse again, but I'm hoping that time frame will be measured in months rather than a year.

Still, at least I'm making some progress.

    A question to my readers.

When I started serious work on the Quiververse, I made myself a promise. That promise was thus, to do the best I can to use whatever characters appear in a story to the best of my ability. I like to think I've done that, as various canon characters are reasonably consistent with their portrayals in the show (and arguably are undergoing development, though that's up to the reader), and my OCs have

What could have been with the reunion. · 1:48am May 4th, 2019

Many Happy Reunions, as I pecked away at it, had plenty of bits that ended up on the cutting room floor. Amongst what got left out...

- A scene where Filthy Rich deliberately directed Hot Trail and Roxy towards the Everfree Forest in their search for Quiver Quill. I cut this because it seemed out of character for him.

- A scene where, after they bit down on Pinkie Pie's Chocolate Habanero cupcakes, Hot Trail and Roxy came across Time Turner, Amethyst Star and Dinky. He starts to offer them aid, only to rescind it after they insult Derpy.

- Speaking of whom, I was going to have Derpy take part in the fight to aid Quiver against Primrose and the Wolf Pack, and likely have her slam into somepony hindquarters first, but I failed to add it before I released the sixth chapter. Might edit it in at some point, though, if only because Derpy deserved a little payback of her own.

Finally, the third chunk to that first epilogue went through a lot of changes. The first and second versions featured Primrose. I didn't even write the first one, but it and the second one (which did get written) will be moved into a future story. The third version featured the reunion at Quiver's old school, with Princess Luna arriving to give the gathered students a thorough tongue-lashing on Quiver's behalf. The fourth was similar to the third, only Quiver and Sunrunner came to the reunion themselves and did their own tongue-lashing. I dropped those because they seemed superfluous, especially given my plans yet to come. What made it to the final version, however, I'm happy with, especially given what it's set up for the future.

Oh, and one more bit of trivia. As I mentioned previously, the final version of this story incorporated plans for other stories I'd been thinking of previously, one of which would have involved Quiver being attacked by Primrose Thorn and her associates. That assault would've ended similarly to this, with a few critical differences. One big difference was that Edgar would have come to Quiver's defense, and died as a result. I opted against having that, however, so Edgar gets to live. But I'm not one to let go of ideas, so be warned.

Anyway, I'm glad that folks have enjoyed the story, and I hope that you continue to enjoy what I have to offer.

Always interesting to read about the potential what-might-have-beens for a story. ^_^

Definitely glad that Edgar survived this story. Though the future worries me...

Don't worry. I like Edgar, and I plan on keeping him around. Those future concerns aren't entirely unjustified, though, and that's all I'm saying for now.

So your going to have Edgar killed in Baltimare from unknown causes with great mystery surrounding it. No originality or imagination. What shame.

Oh heavens no. That's just mean.
