Magisight: Chapter 7 + SONG! · 12:24am Apr 13th, 2019
In case you haven't read chapter 7 yet, the "big surprise" I've been talking about (not really a surprise but whatever) is there is a SONG to go alongside the chapter! Composed by the talented Cadenza Heartsong, it's an ambient track to highlight the mysteries and strange magic auras that permeate the cave of Amethyst Hollow, an ancient cave buried in the far Frozen North of the Crystal Empire. You can either listen to it as you read chapter 7, and the next handful of chapters, or listen to it afterwards, to further build the picture in your mind's eye!

It brings me great joy to do a sorta-collab project with him on this, since he's been with me since day 1 of this story. He's always been there to listen to my ideas, offer suggestions, or just listen to my ramble about plot developments or locations. He's also responsible for a lot of the names unique to this story, since I used all of my creative name juice on Amethyst Hollow.
When it comes to behind-the-scenes stuff, I had to pay special attention to these chapters in particular as I drafted future chapters. This is why I spent a year drafting 90% of the story before making the first chapter public. I would hate to have a bunch of stuff published only to realize "Oh, I said one little thing in chapter 8 that completely contradicts this other thing in chapter 25!"
Of course, that's also just me overthinking everything, as usual.
Lots of strange, spooky goings-ons afoot in Amethyst Hollow, isn't there? Just what exactly will Twilight and Sunburst find? Will they find some answers to Twilight's strange dreams, or is it all just a dead end?
As we speak, I am in the process of going over Ember's editing for chapter 8.
