Magisight: Chapter 31 OUT! · 7:51pm May 2nd, 2020

It took some time, but chapter 31 is out! This one was a challenge to write and edit, not only due to its content, but due to the various complications surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Like I said in my previous blog post, this will likely cause chapter 32, and the epilogue conclusion, to be delayed as well. I'm not sure how long it will take, but right now the atmosphere between me, my editor, and proofreader is "We'll finish it whenever we get around to it" as opposed to "Hey let's shoot for this next Friday."
I was super nervous about this chapter, since it's meant to be the main climax. I always had something in mind like this for the big finish, but I was always worried about "Ahhh, are people going to like this?" Then season 8 happens and it turns out we are both using ideas that share a common root. WHOOPS.
I've had a lot of positive support for chapter 31, and I am so, so thankful for all of your support and encouragement. It meant a lot to see this chapter go over well, especially since I anguished with the particulars for a very long time. There's even a completely un-used draft lying around in my Google Docs that had a slightly darker edge to it; Where Twilight had to face some degree of a temptation trial. For a good several months, I thought I was going to use this idea, but as the last 5 or 6 chapters got posted and I fleshed out my own lore better, I decided it was completely incongruent to what I was aiming for, so I pushed it aside. I think if I were writing something darker that played on the themes of temptation more, it could have worked fine, but the more I read the draft, the more "out of left field" it felt.
That and I don't like seeing Twiggles suffer. Lord knows we've got plenty of edge in the Fanfic community. 
Work on chapter 32 is already underway, and it will the last "main" chapter. Chapter 33 will be the epilogue that ties everything back together, and will likely be much shorter in length, and that will be the final conclusion! As far as the sequel is concerned... Well, I don't know! I'm working on ideas, but I didn't want to commit to anything too heavy until I completely finished this story first. I also have no idea when such a story would even start to come out. Might take a year, at minimum, to get the first chapter out, so if I were you, I'd go read some other stuff in the meantime!
