The Lion King (2019) Trailer Review · 10:07pm Mar 19th, 2019

What’s up, you guys.

Once again, I’ve decided to make another trailer review for you guys to see.

Originally, I was planning on doing some other sort of thing for my 172nd post, but, because of the other stuff I’m currently working on not being ready, I decided to show you all my thoughts on another trailer.

Anyway, today, I will be making my second trailer review by analyzing the trailer for the upcoming Lion King film.

First, have a look at this trailer for yourselves:

Now, onto my thoughts:

I will definitely say that unlike so many others out there who gave positive reactions and comments to this trailer...

I’ve honestly found myself less than impressed with it.

I mean, yes, I thought that the effects on the animals and environment were impressive, music was impressive to my ears, and the narration from James Earl Jones was totally awesome, but this trailer...well, it gave me the impression that there wasn’t going to be anything new about this film at all.

Everything that was featured in it was mostly just scenes, which is typical for a trailer to have. However, it had mostly been of ones that were all too familiar to me personally, such as the parts with the wildebeest stampede and Rafiki holding baby Simba. It gave off too much of a nostalgia rush, really, and the way everything played out made it seem like it was just going to be the same movie, only with photorealistic animals in place of hand-drawn animated animals.

And, aside from hearing the voice of James Earl Jones in this trailer, as well as the obvious knowledge that he’s returning to play Mufusa, we never really got to have any peeks whatsoever at the characters and how they’ll be portrayed.

So, all in all, for me it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be anything new and exciting about this film at all, especially in contrast to the Dumbo film coming out this year, which I thought showed a lot more creativity and newness in promoting the film.

What do you guys think?

Seems to be shot to shot remake

I'm kinda excited for it, even though I like the originals more.

While I am excited for this movie, I'm always gonna like the originals more. Honestly, I'd rather have an animated Lion King III that continues from the second movie.

Yeah, it doesn't look very creative, but the animals look cute.

I still have no idea why these remakes have to happen in the first place, actually.

i only hope it lives up to the original.

We can only see if it really is shot by shot. Otherwise Disney tries to hide some sort of twist behind their rears so at the right time, at the right place, at the right pace, our deepest, most negative doubts would be completely shattered upon laying eyes on it the first time.

And at 12 o' clock Fox merges with Disney, you can guess who's going back home from license in 20thCF.
