Wait. Hold on. It's definitely Monday this time, but why...?
Ah. It is a week late, that would be why. Four, actually.
Why is the super chapter four weeks late Koren?
Meep.
So yeah, finally have a super chapter, yay! This should've been done last week, but whatever! So, I've been busy. I definitely rewrote this chapter like, twice, and in the middle of it all, I created real backgrounds and personalities for five characters that had a grand total of two to three lines each. Another thing that happened was a serious debate with myself as to whether or not to up the rating for the story. The gang definitely deals in dirty deeds done dirt cheap, and one of the focus characters for this chapter kinda makes up the bulk of the chapter. I got an idea about what would happen if a pony in a society similar to our own were to have a cutiemark in a sexual profession, how would that play out considering the average 'age' (based on guesses made from the show) for earning a mark is 8-12?
Finding out the mark would obviously be kinda fucked up at that age, and the psychological, physical, and social ramifications would also be pretty severe, wouldn't it? Goose's gang, and by proxy the old gang, are all made up of ponies that kinda don't fit in with the rest of the world, so if we're exploring this side of goose, they come with it, and as such we talk about them and how they were brought up. Though, weren't brought up would be better here. Mostly. Some of the girls were actually fairly normal, and others have deep seeded daddy issues like Pulse and Heat. either way, this news kinda shakes up their world, and not everybody reacts well. Celestia tells us a little about herself, we learn about Alto and what Goose was doing before the Ramiel fight.
My problems with this chapter mostly stem with two things: how the girls react, and the fact that it was almost 13000 words. I wanted to cut it much sooner, but it just wouldn't make sense to not get the whole day in since that's all this covers. I wanted to put more in here, but I just couldn't get anywhere I was happy with without getting it split there. This chapter is also very sexually charged, as a chapter focused mostly on former/working prostitutes for a gang would, and I'm uncertain if I crossed a line anywhere. Star Overhead kinda bleeds in here because I play jump-rope with the rating line in that story, and I kinda like playing with the line. Super has been more sexual lately than it was before, but it also had that kind of element to it well early on (as far back as Sisters if not earlier) so I can't tell if this is more than usual. But I think it might be. I don't know. Having somebody who reads my shit for me would be nice, but I don't so whatever. I'll get by.
In Koren land, my friends were home from school last week, so this was only worked on during the work day, which lead to literally nothing happening on Thursday last week. I think I kinda burned myself out trying to get this to sit right and just could not work up the drive to get it where I wanted. I ended up finishing the majority of this on Friday and then the last scene was written in bits and pieces over the weekend. with any luck I can get the next part out next Monday and get back on schedule, but we'll see. I have another chapter of Star Overhead to write between now and then, and that project will be completed on time, damn it.
Speaking of, Gardening Club girl chapter next time, horray! The yellow kid or whatever her name is will have her own little section to talk about and possibly interact with Twilight, or pipsqueak, or maybe even that giant white unicorn. Scratch that, the big white unicorn will definitely be there.
Anyways, that's all from me. New chapter next week, at minimum for Star Overhead, but I'm hoping to get that out on Thursday.
