I'm back · 3:06pm Mar 16th, 2019
So I know I forgot to update you guys on my surgery and whatnot, but I finally remembered to do it. So the good news is that the surgery was a complete success, and my vision is amazing. My left eye is all the way down to 20/10 and it's amazing. My right eye on the other hand... Well, there was a small complication after surgery. Nothing too serious, just a scratch on my eye, but for the first week after surgery, it was terrible. You know that feeling when you get an eyelash stuck in your eye? Well just imagine that but more painful and for a week straight. No matter what you do, the pain just doesn't go away. I thought I was going to go insane.
So basically what happened was that rather than send me on my way back to base when I was supposed to leave, they kept me for an extra day and put a contact lens over my eye to prevent my eyelid from agitating it. I had to go to another appointment with my optometrist back here and he confirmed that it is healing nicely. So in the end, everything has worked out. My vision is still recovering from the surgery, and they said that it'll be like this until the end of the month, but I think I'm past the worst of it.
Anyways, what does this mean for my stories? Nothing. I'm writing again, albeit slowly. I've got ideas on what I want to do with these stories, but I'm having a hard time getting from point A to point B. I'm a little more than halfway done with a one-off sequel to The Discovery, but after that I plan to do an honest to god sequel. It's probably going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 50K words. Having said that, my editor has kinda ghosted me for the last couple months, and I really don't like the idea of uploading work that hasn't had another pair of eyes over it. I may like some of my ideas, but that does not mean that anybody else will, just as I learned with the ending to The Discovery.
So where that puts me now, is a question. Would any of you like to be my new editor? I can't offer money, since I make nothing off of these stories, and I have a thousand other things I'm paying for right now, but if you like my work and would like to be credited with helping make it, then I would be eternally grateful.
Awesome dude and glad to see you okay
I'm glad to hear that
Thanks for the update

My editorial skills are a complete shit Sorry
Kudzu is in a down period for health issues, but Scarheart is writing again so I'm not starving for new words to edit, but it does leave me hungry for typos to hunt, so count me in!
Many years ago I brought home an older dog from one of the breeders we worked with, and waking up the first morning he was with me was an experience I would rather forget. I went in for a snuggle and he poked me in the eye with his nose! We called him Jimmy and his registered name was Light My Fire.
If you still need an editor I'd be happy to help. Just finished the discovery and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you. At the moment, I think I'm good, but things can always change. I appreciate the offer regardless.
