Magisight: Thaumaturgical Ocularity Chapter 2, 3 + Life Updates

I would have made a blog post to hype chapter 2 last week, but I was sick! I woke up ill on Tuesday morning and although I wasn't completely bed-ridden, it definitely sapped a lot of motivation. I'll be sure to reply to some of the comments/favorites that have popped up since then as soon as I can. Thankfully, I am now feeling better, even if it's almost a whole week later...

Despite this however, I was able to publish chapter 2, and the final proofing of chapter 3 is underway tonight, so despite the illness, we are still on track for a Thursday evening release!

I was very pleasantly surprised with the feedback I got from chapter 2! There was a little bit near the beginning where Twilight and Luna exchange a brief little jest about Princess Celestia:

Luna let out a curt, indignant snort. “We mean no disrespect, but if we can't find the solution to a conundrum involving my Dreamscape, what makes you think my sister can?”

"Twilight chuckled nervously, her glance shifting side to side, from Luna to the book on the table and back again, struggling to come up with an answer. Luna gave another snort, her face scrunching up before letting out a most un-princesslike howl of thunderous laughter. Twilight couldn't help herself, and despite the anxiety hanging around her, she joined her fellow princess in a display of mirth."

This little bit with the laughter almost got cut! The first paragraph would have remained in some form regardless, but my editor wasn't happy with the original draft of the second paragraph, and I struggled to find a way to improve it. I really wanted to keep a little bit of humor to break the tension and give Twilight a moment of respite leading up to her visit to Celestia. Thankfully, my BF Denzy read it and was able to re-write it to what you see in the finished product.

Just a fun little behind-the-scenes for you all! Ember and Denzy have been invaluable in ensuring the quality and polish of this fanfic is as high as it possibly can be. One of my weaknesses as a writer is I can be somewhat "blunt" or even "dry" with some of my character body or action descriptions, ("There's a lot of 'she said.'" was kind of the prevailing thought in earlier drafts) so I can't thank them enough.
