My Little Pony Season 9: The End is Just the Beginning · 5:47pm Mar 8th, 2019

Good afternoon FIMFICTION and MLP fanatics worldwide, this is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer. Some of you viewing this blog may know of some of my critiques in Dinodisneylover1's 'The Disney Chronicles' series as well as several co-related threads but today I'm here as one of the few bringing the news of a huge story taking place in the MLP community. Following rumor warnings dating all the way back late December two years ago (2017 to be exact), word began to come up about Season 9 and slowly some slight details were revealed. Indeed we would have a 26 episode run, including the show's 200th spectacular which promises to bring in some very exciting guests and memorable moments, and that a Generation 1 villain, 'Grogar', would potentially make his long anticipated debut onto the show. But the biggest story that has been going around the community has been certain: As reported by the MLP Staff and writing team, this thrilling season will be the last run for 'Generation 4'.

From news that an upcoming MLP feature won't directly follow the previous flick featuring Emily Blunt as a breakout star to the subtle hints during last season by Glim-Glam herself, the confirmation of Season 9 marking the show's final run has led to some mixed emotions among the community. There are those who are content that the show has run it's course, to some greatly disappointed and worried that this will be the last time they'll see their favorite characters on screen before Gen 5 becomes a reality. And in weeks leading up to the anticipated premier of Season 9, the staff is clearly pulling all the stops to make this season their biggest project they've ever worked on. Word has spread of returning guest stars such as Patton Oswalt (Quibble Pants) and Weird Al Yankovic (Cheese Sandwich) as well as new characters and original songs, as the season hopes to leave a final lasting impression upon one of the most active fandoms in the media. As we prepare to join our favorite characters for one last trip to memory lane, I, the Dramamaster, aim to keep up to date in regards to what's to come during the new season.

Warning: For those hoping to avoid any spoilers, I would advice not to go through this portion of the blog at this time.

Our big story concerns our big premier episode 'The Beginning of The End', a two-part episode set to air April 6th 11:30 am (Time of premier may vary). Following a brief teaser which hinted at King Sombra's surprise return and the chaos possibly leading to the destruction of the Elements of Harmony, further details had been revealed during the recent trailer release. According to the source material, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are declaring their retirement after thousands of years ruling Equestria leaving the kingdom in the hands of Twilight Sparkle and her friends. While it's been noted that the ponies could look up to the Elements of Harmony wielders after countless seasons saving Equestria from the forces of evil and the many friendship lessons they've resolved, fans are aware of the self-doubt that Twilight must be feeling as we speculate if this had been planned right from the very beginning. As if balancing running a School of Friendship to potentially ruling Equestria wasn't enough, an ancient villain is rumored to assembling a legion of nefarious characters to conquer the entire land. Which leads to the possibility that King Sombra, who had disappeared during the premier of Season 3, won't be the only villain the fans will have to keep an eye out for.

Without a doubt, Season 9 aims to put everything our favorite group of friends learned to the test as once again the Mane Six must band together whether it's saving Equestria from inevitable doom or resolving some friendship lessons between ponies and other characters. Further surprises on what's to come for the season remain in the dark, but for those anxious knowing that this season is the last can assure there's plenty more Hasbro has to offer. Following a weeklong 'Pony Palooza' marathon of the 'Equestria Girls' specials, our last Saturday of the month (March 30th) will mark the world premier of 'Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown' which features the girls on a cruise vacation supposedly gone awry. There is also word of a roadtrip special involving a trip to a town without colors, but any further details is up to the fandom to determine for themselves. And while the CGI-Animated feature film for MLP currently in production will hardly have the Gen 4 flare, should it's premier offer a promising first impression for what Generation 5 has to offer it's sure to draw a bigger audience than anticipated.

At this point, all I can say fellow readers is that there's no shame in being disappointed that this is the last trip. Just because Season 9 has been confirmed to be the final session for our favorite Gen 4 cast, doesn't mean the end of everything we love about MLP. It's never been about the colorful ponies or the musical numbers or slumber parties and tea time, Gen 4 had aimed to prove that it can take the concept of offering friendship morals for a target audience while pushing deep into the subjects that the whole family can relate to and moments within the show that inspired a community to come together in search of something they share in common. I aim to enter this upcoming season for the show highly anticipated with what it has to offer in regards to story-driven scenarios, character development, stellar animation, and memorable songs. So be sure to mark on your calendars as the two part premier gets set to air in an attempt to show that as one journey comes to an end, another is just about to begin.

Until then, this is the Dramamaster829... Signing off!
