    Happy Holidays, and Apologies.

Remember how I promised a Railway Crusaders Christmas special starring Babs Seed? How I promised ya'll a holiday short story during the most hectic time of the year? Well, sorry to say it won't happen. Not only was I just not feeling it the more I wrote, but tragedy struck just a week after my last blog post. My five year old computer's hard drive finally gave up the ghost, and though all my

    Railway Crusaders Holiday Special

The next chapter of Railway Crusaders is almost ready, so now it's time to get started on the Hearths Warming Special! I was halfway through the latest chapter when I realized I forgot Babs Seed! Update Blog

This blog has just one purpose. At 10:05 this morning, we made the decision to put Roslin, by Best furry Friend of nine years, to sleep forever. Her appetite seemed to return yesterday, but she began vomiting early this morning, and her breathing was labored. She could barely stand.

    To All My Readers

For everyone who reads my stories here on Fimfiction, I'd like to apologize for not updating them as quickly as you, or I for that matter, would like. I've already mentioned in a few authors notes that my writing often times has to take a back seat to my school work, but now there's a something else on the board as well.

Hello all,

So a couple updates since my last chapter and blog post. As y'all know my most popular story on this site is Railway Crusaders. Over the next few days I will be starting the process of cross-posting it to my accounts on Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own. That's right, This Brony is no longer in denial.

As far as Railway Crusaders goes though, I need your opinions. Part of the reason I've let the story slip into hiatus is because over the last year or so not only did school pick up, but I started diving deep into the train sim scene, first with Railworks and then Trainz A New Era. The latter, and the hundreds of fan-made TTTE stories told through it, is what gave me the idea that consumed the majority of my free time since the last chapter update. I thought that with a few custom/modified routes and some tweaked blender models, I could slap together my own MLP/TTTE trainz series. Suffice to say that project has maybe a one in ten trillion chance of actually happening.

What will happen though is a slight rewrite/reboot of Railway Crusaders. Looking back on the chapters has inspired me to do better, especially with the monster mess that is Ch 12. Gods above what was I thinking when I published that steaming piece of :pinkiegasp:. What can you expect from the reboot? Mainly me going back and editing to turn each chapter to work better as a cohesive over all story. When I started my approach was more of letting every two or three chapters be their own short story, but now I feel I can do better. What does this mean? Well, two things mainly. No. 1 I'll be going through and adding various elements, bits of foreshadowing and world building to help flesh out the world of Equestria's railways more thoroughly. That includes change No. 2, redoing a few of my locomotive characters, namely the engines they are based on. This is where y'all come in.

Before you type anything, please be aware I am an author just like you, and I think we all know what a headache too many characters can become. Any proposed characters I do include will most likely be limited to cameo’s or background roles. That being said, here are the guidelines.

For Pony OCs, a brief bio with things like key personality quirks, their profession, preferably something on the railroad but that’s not required, and a description of their appearance and cutie mark. I suggest generalzoi’s pony creator on Deviantart.

For Engine OCs same thing. A brief Bio, key personality traits, and a picture of their basis. Preference will be given to engines based on an IRL loco. Every Railway Series engine was based on a real type of locomotive that once existed, and I would like to continue that tradition as best I can. That being said if you do have a custom design idea or one you've seen online that you really like and it's not too over the top, I will consider it all the same. To make things easier, here is my current fanon history of Equestrias railways.

In Railway crusaders, the first true steam locomotive was built and operated roughly one hundred fifty years before the events of the story. Generally the oldest locomotives found still in operation are the 4-4-0 Amareicans like Jedidiah. The Four mainline railroads are based on four of my favorite railroads, and are a nod to the Big Four of pre British Rails days. You can identify them on the map by color, and of course, all railroads lead to Canterlot. I know the map is slightly outdated, but it still works.

Equestria North Eastern Railway: Pink with red to mark the branchline most of the stories events take place on. Formed by a forced merger of the Manehattan Central and Pransylvania Railroads, the former of which utilized a strict loading gauge due to a series of tunnels. Their traffic is a mish-mash of various goods and passenger work, with everything from slow-goods to Limited express trains.

Southern Railway: Yellow. Mainly based on American Railroads and the longest single RR in Equesteria, with a leaning toward Union Pacific and Santa fe. At the start of the story they are just starting the process of dieselization, doing trial runs on their big freight trains, mostly the long haul runs between Canterlot and the South Luna Ocean ports.

Grand Solar: Green line. The name and locos are nods to the Great Western Railway. It also holds its engines to strict loading gauge standards because of many tunnels, and though its managers have held out on the diesel trend, they are starting to suffer for it financially. The GS is equestria's main mineral mover, coal, building stones, even gems.

Vanhoover and Western: greytracks. In TTTE terms this is the OTHER Railway. At the beginning of Railway Crusaders the V&W, is the only equestrian railroad to fully dieselize. Most of their rail traffic is manufactured goods like steel, furniture, and a lot of the imported goods coming from across the North Luna Ocean. They have also gotten very rich off traffic from the Crystal Empire.

The line between the Crystal Empire and Griffonstone is currently unnamed and has no lore, but I’m thinking a recent construction by the Crystal Empire.
