Honestly what I expected from these devices from the get-go. The human body and mind were not meant to be bombarded with this level of information from all sides. It's not good for us. The fact that people have no issue with giving away personal information to set up the things only adds irony to the situation.

I wish I knew what a society that came through the other side of this looked like. How people will learn to adapt to the barrage of fear, clickbait, and other ways for technology to exploit failures in our survival instincts. Because "don't use those things", while necessary for individuals' mental health, is no more a solution than "don't smoke" is for getting the problem of tobacco under control.
