Option one as it has little to no risk in causing a revelation scenario that i don't think sunset wants as opposed to option two as I don't believe sunset in this story to be ethically/morally inclined outside of trying to pavlov them out of using their powers assuming they remain capable of using said powers.

Hmm, I'll have to say option A.

I don't think they've done anything to get them in juvie yet (though that could change). Magic turning on them since they aren't acting as element bearers should could be interesting. Everytime they try to act in accordance with their element to someone else they see when they didn't for Sunset, maybe even from Sunset's POV.

Instead of jail/juvie, I'd say probation. I mean yeah they broke a few laws but they're minor ones not to mention they're first time offenders. Probation and community service sounds more fitting but that's just my own personal opinion.

Partnered with loss of their powers.

I have to agree with you Doctor
However I also agree with

Because it will ensure that this incident won’t happen again so to summarize a combination of probation and their magic turning on them sounds like the best (and most pleasing) option.

A totally option A and make them go through community service.

I can understand that but you don't want it to be so bad that they become reluctant to use their powers.

If they do something that continuously hurts them eventually they'll stop wanting to do it. At that point the punishment backfires. Unless of course it's only made to be temporary.

Fair point but I’m thinking if it only happened when they didn’t need to use their powers like if Rainbow just used her speed to just get somewhere fast it would cause her to feel extremely exhausted but if they have to use their powers to stop creatures like from Friendship games it wouldn’t hurt but I might just be making it too complicated and confusing.

I should have explained further. They have to help people with the powers, but in doing so it hurts. The pain will keep them form playing with them, but they have no choice but to help people.

Ok that does help thanks so it seems that option A may win because there’s only 2 votes for B but then again there are 2 votes for C but that one we made up so regardless it will be interesting to see what the outcome will be.

Option B sounds better

I guess I'm just not understanding their obligation to perform self inflicted suffering.

If they got hurt from using their powers outside of helping people, it'd make sense. However if they got hurt anytime they used their powers, helping or not then it'd create a reason to not want to help anymore.

Jail fuck those 3

Not juvie. Put them on probation, pay fines, community service but still have it on record.

If I may add an option C?

The three of them write a sincere apology letter to Sunset Shimmer under the eyes of Vice-Principal Luna. Also, they have to pay a fine for all the damage they've done to Sunset like when Applejack sabotaged her motorcycle. Rarity is forced to help Sunset getting her job back.

They can't pony up anymore due to their actions nor can they play their instruments for a while.

It's just a suggestion, I think that options A and B are a little over the edge here. But the choice is up to you of course. Good luck with your story.

How about Option B, until Princess Twilight learns of it and comes to Earth to slap some sense into Sunset? Because man, considering what Sunset Shimmer herself did and that she only had to rebuild the front of the school, that's some uneven punishment. Nevermind attacking Trixie as a group and then brainwashing her to forget they did it and say nice things about her attackers... Yeah, I think neither option really works at this point.

Nobody is acting like their Element at the moment, Sunset included. They should all lose their powers, honestly.

A!
please XD

..... I will say A will do fitting punishment

B and make it so they HAVE to use them.

I know this is more than a year old but I agree with option C and the modified version of it.

Yeah, I'm late to the party, like always, anyway.

Option A can't happen. That's not how the law works, unless you're gonna say that the EG world has some really draconian laws. Sunset is asking for a restraining order; she'll either get it or she wont. Juvie can only happen if they deliberately breach that order. Sunset could open a criminal case against them, then they might end up in Juvie or whatever. Just for context; a restraining order is a civil matter, not a criminal one.

Option B... well... nyegh. Twilight/Celestia/Luna are not that cruel and it sounds kinda dumb imo.

The option C mentioned in the comments: Having them write apologies, yes, fine. It won't have anything to do with the court case though. As for the fines; see my argument against option A.

EDIT

Also: Restraining orders rarely, if ever, involve a jury. It's only the judge and the two parties involved.

And to expand on any criminal cases.
Sunset would have to open 3 seperate cases; a harrasment case against Rarity, a vandalism case against Applejack and a false reporting case against Rainbow. None of these are likely to end in jailtime irl, because they are first time offenders and will likely be regretful in court. At worst they will community service or a suspended sentence.
