The writing process · 12:31pm Jan 22nd, 2019
I'm still working on my writing process and overall style. I spend a lot of time making sure that everything I put in my story is as accurate as possible. Research on characters from the series, the timeline of events, material regarding the military, and so much more. I have so much planned for this series that I actually keep a separate document with all major events that happen in my story and an outline of future events.
However, my story has evolved as the characters started interacting and all their personalities forced me to deviate from what I originally wanted to write. Kelly and Big Mac gaining an interest in each other wasn't even planned to be part of the plot, but it just seemed to fit their characters.
Even the writing itself hasn't been all that consistent, or at least it feels that way. I also find it hard to change up the in how things are described and how words are spoken. It's important for me to give all the information to let the reader know how they're speaking, what their body language conveys, and how they position themselves. All of these things, from my perspective, help to add the imagery in the readers' mind with just how all these events are playing out. However, I do recognize that my works may come off as wordy or too heavy in dialog. I will accept this though because by far and large, this story is something I wanted to make for myself.
So, if you are still reading this and enjoy my story, things will start slowing down with the heavy hardships. We're going to see the group will be able to start branching out building stronger bonds. Chapter 16 will soon be completed and start moving towards brighter days by the end. Also, don't get too caught up with how some people have different reactions with each other. That will all come into play down the road.
