Completion? · 5:04am Jan 21st, 2019

Some of you may not know this, but there's a Songs of the Spheres progress bar on the fimficiton group. Usually, there's three colors on this bar: green represents published, orange represents drafted, and red represents stuff I haven't touched yet. Well, this is what that bar looks like now.

Look at that. That word. That beautiful word.

"Done."

I am proud to announce that the ending of Songs of the Spheres currently exists. Fully written. Not fully edited, of course, but as of now the only work that remains to be done is post-production stuff based on community interaction and feedback. It's COMPLETE. There exist some editors who have read all of the story.

An estimated two million words...

Written over the course of a year and a half...

This is by far the biggest project I have ever completed. And it means a bit more to me than just a 'big completion'. Songs of the Spheres is the FIFTH mega-crossover story I tried to make. It is the only one I completed. The only one. This is both satisfying... but also freeing.

I mean, come on, when you prove to yourself you can write 10,000 words a day for an entire summer your mind kind of expects you to keep it up. Self-pressure is a little insane at times. I will definitely not be doing something with that much demand on me again.

What does this mean for the future? Well, the chapters won't all publish here until March 2020, and possibly even later if I need to put on a hiatus or two to allow for community submissions a few times. (127 is going to be difficult. You'll see why when it comes around). So you don't have to worry about running out of SotS ANYTIME soon. Unless you're a high-end editor. In which case, hey, at least you know how it ends. Don't you dare spoil it.

I have some other projects I want to start working on. I won't tell you what they are yet, but you'll probably hear more about them soon. I can say they won't be as lengthy, complex, or as demanding on my mental state as Songs of the Spheres was.

Regardless, I'm feeling a lot of things right now. Elated, excited, more than a little sad that my beloved characters have reached their end, and nervous about how all the bumps on the road to the ending will be received. Who knows what the future holds? I sure don't.

Anyway, expect to hear more from me soon!

Congratulations! Must feel awesome to finally have it mostly done. And 2 million words?! That's about twice the length of the entire Harry Potter series combined.

NaNoWriMo: Ironman Edition

In all seriousness, congratulations! Here's to seeing what may come in that second megaword.

Someone is a main character in the story
