Hello friends!
So, I've been working on this fic for a while, But I wanted to wait until Sleep, Pretty Darling was done so I could give it my full attention, and I'm honestly so glad I did.
A lot of the key elements in this story were very personal to me. I survived a lot of what she went through, I have done the charity that she has, and I have felt her feelings. This was all about getting those emotions out, sharing those experiences, and making others feel that what they have felt is absolutely valid. In the end, that's what I strive to do. Make others feel accepted. So this came along, begged to be written, and I obliged. Because that's what I do.
Platinum was in many was an idealized version of me. Generous to a fault, kind, diplomatic, respectful. But she also shares some of my weaknesses- quick to anger, slow to trust, and a definite desire to right the wrongs that have befallen her. But she does it much more easily than I could. Mostly because of magic. Man I wish I had me some of that. But through it all, she is a mom. She is loving and kind to her kids. She is unconditional in her love for them. That's what I want to be. She is everything I want to be as a parent. And I love her for that.
I hope she is relatable to you all, and that you can connect to her. I sure did.
