    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

    Bon Bon's story.

Seems to be coming along well. 365 pages at 192,769 words.

    We'll get there.

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

Blood of the foal - Complete · 2:52pm Dec 8th, 2018

And there we go, the final chapter edited and uploaded.

Now, the final book in the Fairlight arc will need to be edited and published. It's a fair old size, so may take a while.

Congrats.

I really should get to reading the Fairlight series you made... ugh.

So little time, so much to do.

Plus like with many things, big word counts scare me. But i know that ill like the story from you so ugh. :facehoof:

I read bits of stories when I can, like when I'm on a break with work or when I can't sleep. Of course, nodding off when you're reading something isn't the best thing to do. I've found my tablet well and truly wedged down the side of the bed before now! Anyway, the last book in the series is about 650 pages long, so it's by far the longest of the Fairlight series. I wrote it when I was having to deal with a lot in my life, so whether it reads well, I'll let you decide. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so if this is truly the case it may actually be the best yet! Ah well, we live in hope. :pinkiehappy:

Take care and all the best,

I suffer from "if i like something i want to finish it ASAP" disease. Back with Ice Fall i gave it most of my free time to finish that story. Doesnt help that im probably a slow reader. :rainbowlaugh:

Have to finish "All the Queen's Horses" first anyway so will start there. :trollestia:

Have you considered writing shorter stories as well (or maybe just not several hundred pages ones?). I think you deserve so much more attention then you get/got but its probably the intimidating word count that keeps people out.

Yeah, I kinda guessed the length of the stories may be a factor in viewing figures, especially after some of the comments I received, but in fairness I enjoy writing so much I just keep going until the story ends. The same goes for reading. Personally I think it's the journey that's the best part, and as much as I'd like to get to the end and see what actually happens, quite often I find myself disappointed because the story's over. Now, if the story was pants, then I'd probably read it a damned sight faster and just skim over it! I'm not a fast reader myself, but that's because I like to immerse myself in the world the writer has created and not just blast through it the way other members of my family do. Horses for courses I suppose. :yay:

As for short stories, as a matter of fact I do have several in mind, but one in particular. It's about Lyra, but I won't say any more for now. Let's see how it goes first. :twilightsheepish:

yeah i know that feeling, i like to immers myself in the stories too, and even try to imagine what would be going on around the world/main character rather then just whats going on with in the story.

Started reading ATQH now so lets see where it goes, maybe ill find an answer to the mystery of Equestrias Ghost Pony-Pirate from Ice Fall in there or the Fairlight series once i get there. :trollestia:

Ah, now that would be telling! Mind you, you may find more to come in the latest Fairlight book in that regard. Anyway, there's still another book to be written that will tie it all up, so we'll all have to wait and see I'm afraid. Me included!

Hah, will be fun to see. The first chapter of ATQH so far is shaping up to be interesting.

Though looking through the chapters and seeing a 35k words one was a "oh my" moment. :pinkiecrazy:
