    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

Seems to be coming along well. 365 pages at 192,769 words.

    We'll get there.

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

It's frightening how one person can dominate an entire department simply by sucking up to the boss, destroying your confidence, your self image, and making you think you'd be better off six foot under. Thank the gods I got out before I'd given up completely.

Anyway, this job is better paid, and I work 4 x days on, 3 x days off. This company seems to actually care about its employees too. It may be a mind numbing workplace answering customer queries all day, but hell - a four day working week and more money than when I worked for the police? That'll do for me.

Back to the now:

Tomorrow we fly out from the UK to the US in Maine to visit family I haven't seen for four years because of covid. Looking forward to getting there, but not the journey. It'll take somewhere around 14 hours all told. Yay! We'll be visiting Vegas for a few days apparently too. I've never been, and it looks very crowded. Thankfully I don't gamble, so my wallet will remain firmly in my pocket

As for the story, it's on page 489 right now. 263, 104 words.

I may actually get it finished before George RR Martin finishes Winds of Winter. The main difference being I actually intend to get this done!

All the best,

Bluespectre
