Chapter 23, Patreon, and Polls! · 4:03pm Dec 6th, 2018
Good tidings, citizens! I come here bringing news good and also interesting, and none of it bad. Starting off with business as usual, Chapter 23 is coming along nicely. Now that I think of it, don't I say that every time? I've only got 2200 words so far, but it comes out real smooth when I'm not busy with work or other stuff. One of my editors keeps pestering me to write more every time I stop because it's apparently super epic and he's real invested and he wants to know what comes next! So you can look forward to that as soon as I can set aside some time to finish it. Give it a week, tops?
And speaking of time and work!

The very same editor who desperately wants me to write faster has suggested that I create a Patreon. This is something I've considered before, but often shunned out of a belief that either a) nobody would use it and b) authors with Patreons are sell-outs. Of course, the truth about b is that I was just jealous that they can make money by writing horse words! So it all comes down to the question of whether anyone would actually care enough to give me their hard-earned money in exchange for my hard-worked writing. And as a man of science, I have created a poll!
Answer the questions and let me know how much you'd be willing to support me for the suggested rewards, or suggest another reward idea of your own! I also always adore recieving comments, but nothing beats actual statistical polling!
And if it all works out well? Then I'll be making a Patreon after I finish the first act and allow you all to help bankroll my writing urges. I have a dream, friends, and that dream is me being able to dedicate whole days I would normally be working to writing. Just think of the productivity!

Better be quick on that Discord, kids – right now the #chapter-drafts channel is open to all, but that’s gonna change if that Patreon gets up and running. Consider it extra incentive!

This is unrelated, but after creating "The One Bookshelf" and sorting all stories I ever read on FIMFiction (or, at least started to read) into it, I realized that you are the author of "Omega", one of the first fics that I started to read here on FIMFiction.net (and one of those that I sadly also never finished and didn't come far with
) in the Summer of 2013. I saw "Empty Horizons" too, but had forgotten the name of the author of "Omega" and now I remember and I see it's you! 
I am even more eager to read your stories now, both "Empty Horizons" and all that is there of "Omega" (new and old version, especially the old one).

Oh, hey man. Pretty crazy to hear that you were a fan of Omega back in the day! I spent a ton of time on that fic, and it's really where I cut my writing teeth and became the writer that I am now. Now that I think of it, I do recognize your username from back then!
That said, I don't think I would recommend you reading it. I certainly have no intentions of ever returning to Omega. The story had some big flaws on the conceptual level, and frankly giving up on it and starting anew with Empty Horizons was the best decision I ever made when it comes to writing. It's a nice fantasy to entertain going back and finishing the story, but I think it's better to keep it in the past.
Of course, you can certainly still read what's there if you want! There are some stories on the site that I feel are worth reading even if they'll never be completed, though I don't think that Omega is anywhere close to being one of them. Trust me, you'll have a much better experience just reading Empty Horizons.
