Darksiders: Equestria's Tree of Life Lore Bit- How All-Sworn/Alicorns fit into the Darksiders universe. · 10:31am Dec 4th, 2018

I wanted to do a lore dump since I can't write anything yet.

The Alicorns as a race have been around since before The Charred Council and while not as old as The Makers are a race whose history stretches back to even before the war between Heaven and Hell, though the Alicorns seen in the story are nowhere near as ancient, since the civil war that wiped out the majority of the species acted as one of several catalysts that led to The Charred Council forming the Seven Seals and the temporary truce between the first and second kingdoms. (The other catalyst being the emergence of the third kingdom and the threat of the Nephilim prior to both of these events leading the council to keep a closer watch on the first and second kingdoms)

Prior to their destruction, Alicorns were a race that oversaw the balance by collecting and safeguard the culture, history and knowledge of other races within their own souls, which were stored in The Vault of the Ancestors (a very large tomb for the entire species) when the alicorn finally grew weary of existence as they were immortal creatures.

The Alicorns power to warp reality is a well-known but rarely documented ability as they had a keener sense of how the balance was shifting than other races. They also had a gift bestowed upon their race alongside their powerful souls and capacity to absorb vast amounts of knowledge- the power to create new souls. This was so the number of soul destroyed in one way or another never grew to be greater than the number of souls still in existence, thus preserving the balance. Though with the species almost extict, the third kingdom laying in ruin and corruption spreading across all of creation, one has to wonder if the Alicorns are required to take up their original purpose once again.
