    Sincere Shilling!

If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

Last Week on City Of Doors 7/7/2019

So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

Anime: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

BMRL milestone achieved · 1:39pm Sep 7th, 2018

So yeah, nowhere near actually caught up but the Big Master Review List now has a total of 10,000 titles on it.
I took the opportunity to update the basic master review list here so that the non-browser crashing version is more up to date. If someone could check to make sure the link works, I'd appreciate it. I'll do it again when I get all caught up, but that'll be months down the line.

Basic numbers breakdown:
Authors: 3,679
Stories: 10,000
Total reviews: 18745

Which means that, averaging across the entire spreadsheet, each author writes 2.7 stories and each story gets reviewed 1.8 times. The wonders of meaningless averages!

I don't think the top reviewed stories have changed all that much. Here is how the review numbers break down a bit more.
Stories with 1 review: 6233
Stories with 2 reviews: 2056
Stories with 3 reviews: 831
Stories with 4 reviews: 417
Stories with 5 reviews: 215
Stories with 6 reviews: 108
Stories with 7 reviews: 63
Stories with 8 reviews: 33
Stories with 9 reviews: 22
Stories with 10 reviews: 10
Stories with 11 reviews: 7
Stories with 12 reviews: 3
Stories with 13 reviews: 1
Stories with 14 reviews: 1

So, the vast majority of reviews are still for single-review stories.

Part of me wanted to dust off the spreadsheet pages with all the real fancy formulas on them but getting them to work would be a lot of work. So I'm not going to. Maybe when I'm completely caught up. Or if someone wants to actually pay me for it.

Fancy statistics I've had fun with in the past:
How much overlap each reviewer has with the rest.
Which authors have the most reviews total.
Which authors have the most stories on the list.
The most overused titles.
How many times a particular word has shown up in titles/authors on the list.

Everything seems to be present and correct. Congratulations on this remarkable milestone! :yay:

I'm thinking it's the same story, that's two reviews ahead of its closest competitors.

Thanks again for all you do!

Mentioned in the 29 Aug blog: The New Crop has 14 reviews and Essenza di Amore has 13. I've still never read Essenza di Amore, so when I do review it (if nobody new does The New Crop by that point) they'll be level on 14.

Nope. Different stories.

The highest levels of reviews for stories have always been a bit wonky. I remember when the most reviewed story was like one higher than the next group. So you had one story with twelve reviews and then no stories with 11 reviews and then like three stories with 10 reviews.

Oh, I was looking at the stats the wrong way -- wasn't thinking. The counts are "stories with exactly X reviews", otherwise "stories with 1 review" would be 10,000. Duh.
