Me before: Hey I think I could rewrite this alright- there's not that many chapters and the word count isn't too bad. Of course I'll have to change things like personalities, omit useless things like the Nightmares, and rebuild the entire story from the ground up, but I think I can do it! I'll also be sure to rake up a lot of chapters before I post them, just in case I lose the motivation to keep going.
Me after: chapter 1 is also chapter 2 and chapter 3
chapter 2 doesn't exist yet
do you know how many things happened in chapter 2
do you know how not many things happened in chapter 1

It's just like, I thought it would be an easy rewrite and then I realized that I stuffed so much stuff into each chapter that with how I write (type?) now chapter 1 has encompassed up to chapter 3 lmfao
That and the plot I had in mind didn't make much sense (I think I included every character I could just so they would be in there) and I'll have to twist the lore into something else to make it still fit with the story still aha
But! It means I've also written chapter 1 and 2! Both are like 1,600 words or so

chapter 3 will have parts of chapter 2 after all, but boy lemme tell you it is DIFFERENT
EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT
I'll be doing my best to follow the same general plotline because then it wouldn't be a satisfying rewrite- it would be a completely new story with the same beginning conflict.
